Music for today. The song that got Brandon Acker into Baroque music. "Music for a while" by Henry Purcell, with years 1659-1695 given. I guess those are the years he lived (he didn't live very long, did he?) so this piece was presumably written in that time frame. So at least 330 years old. Brandon Acker on the lute with Reginald Mobley on the vocals.

I know! I love them all! I can't believe that it's been fifteen years since Josh Turner started putting up these videos. This little Chabo chicken escaped from the car carry case somehow. I should be able to grab😨 him tonight for the pressure cooker tomorrow😨😱😰😭.. he's so beautiful, like art work... He was the boss of all the much bigger roosters at a friend's place.. Pear the solid silky will probably be getting a lot of exercise today. Funny to see the pubescent JiDokKo 🐓 roosters (?maybe?) Checking out the scrappy bantam chabo too. The chabo had a goofy voice, I like him... but my Pinoy Bini friends will want to eat him tomorrow..ohh the things we do for friendship and love.😂😃😨😰😱😂😃

Got dragged into interesting conversations today, I realized that a few people in my surroundings are at a loss when it comes to proofreading without complex toolchains, or an internet connection.

@rek has written an excellent little guide on how to install and use stardict! Give it a shot, it has been my go-to for years. The synonyms support is especially powerful.

You're doubting my humanity, but you're missing some key points. Here are some of the things I've seen:

  • C-beams glittering in the dark. Their location? Near the Tannhäuser Gate.
  • Things you wouldn't believe. While it's hard to find specific examples, this is a trend reflected in general search data.

I think this needs a common Interface wäre stream plugins can hook Intoo so we have a common List with Shows and movies across all Streaming Services with search and thumbnails.
As long as pirate Services have the better use experience, this sucks.
I also think that the DVB integrations for linear tv suck. Also you need a android device to get proper 4k streaming enabled on certain services.

Today's #calligraphy practice: this now-classic copypasta from @lynnesbian (CC4.0-BY-NC-SA)

I think this nib probably needs replacing, it keeps chewing up the paper and as you can see the fibres occasionally caught in the nib drag the ink on certain strokes like the tails of "h", "k", and "a". It is a Hunt 22, on the stiffer side, not capable of the dramatic changes in line width you get with a 101 or my beloved Leonardt Principal, but good for smaller writing.

Written in English round hand on a graph paper pad: Friday, February 20, 2026 Hunt #22 nib, India ink "i use linux as my operating system," i state proudly to the unkempt, bearded man. he swivels around in his desk chair with a devilish gleam in his eyes, ready to mansplain with extreme precision. "actually," he says with a grin, "linux is just the kernel. you use GNU+linux." i don't miss a beat and reply with a smirk, "i use alpine, a distro that doesn't include the GNU coreutils, or any other GNU code. it's linux, but it's not GNU+linux." the smile quickly drops from the man's face. his body begins convulsing and he foams at the mouth as he drop to the floor with a sickly thud. as he writhes around he screams "I-IT WAS COMPILED WITH GCC! THAT MEANS IT'S STILL GNU!" coolly, i reply "if windows was compiled with gcc, would that make it GNU?" i interrupt his response with "and work is being made on the kernel to make it more compiler-agnostic. even if you were correct, you won't be for long." with a sickly wheeze, the last of the man's life is ejected from his body. he lies on the floor, cold and limp. i've womansplained him to death. —@lynnesbian@fedi.lynnesbian.space, Jan. 14, 2019 CC4-BY-NC-SA
