Canonical developer lays out some AI plans for Ubuntu Linux gamingonlinux.com/2026/04/canoโ€ฆ

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Hey @ubuntu, I have been using #Ubuntu as my daily driver since I started using it in 2005, and I have been promoting it around me as well. But this kind of idiocy is going to push me to another distribution, and I'm sure many other users as well. Ubuntu doesn't need #AI, if people want to use AI, they can install specific software. The OS has no business integrating this directly

The current PS5 controller I use have terrible Bluetooth performance and other weirdness. I'm hoping they've better support for their own hardware.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Not yet, maybe if it was 20โ‚ฌ cheaper or I needed a new controller. But I don't need one right now, and the price although maybe fair considering the specs, is higher than I expected.

This is wildly exciting! Let's hope they learned from the first game and cut the length a bit. Oooh, and VR support.

The CAT-tastrophe of Japanese Art: Kuniyoshiโ€™s Genius Explained - YouTube

Utagawa Kuniyoshi was obsessed with cats โ€” and he turned that obsession into one of the funniest masterpieces in Japanese art.
His โ€œ53 Cat Stationsโ€ is a brilliant parody of the famous Tลkaidล Road series, replacing every station with cats, puns, and pure feline chaos.
Kuniyoshi might just be the worldโ€™s first viral cat-content creator. ๐Ÿ˜น

'Angry nihilism': Why man behind 'Aussie' posters is bringing them back

Australian street artist Peter Drew has reflected on why he has relaunched his "Aussie" poster series.
The series is recognisable nationwide and was started to challenge assumptions about Australia's national identity.

Muse reshared this.

in reply to Michael Amadio

"They just really appreciated seeing somebody who doesn't fit the norm being included in Aussie."

Rest is a right, not a reward.
All we have is each other, act accordingly (with love and care).
Our value is independent of our productivity.
Our identity transcends a job title.

Also in conversation I mentioned Taco. He is a Dutch artist who is now living in Germany. His 80s version of Puttin' on the Ritz is a lot of fun.

And here's that tune I mentioned...

This song came up in conversation this morning. This is Peter Schilling's cover of Major Tom by David Bowie. I am not a purist and enjoy hearing different people's takes on a song. They can each bring something unique and perhaps even give the song a new meaning or a little different nuance.
