I understand the point of this [formerly serious newspaper that has devolved into fluff] profile of #MarissaMayer (former CEO of Yahoo!) may be rage bait, so I am not including a link to it.

But ouf, reading these words (which have been widely circulating online) has been painful, especially as a mom.

You can't think of 3 qualities that make your child special, so you ask an AI Assistant? NO, NO, NO, NO. UNACCEPTABLE.

I imagine Marielle reading this and my heart breaks for her.

Hey other #NoAI fans, the replies in this thread make it very easy to block, so go and block away! But thank you for making this block honney pot!

"AI" is a failed technology, in the sense that it's neither fit for purpose, nor a likely path to its stated end goal of "AGI", but a lot of people's profits currently depend on pretending it's not. I am curious to see how long the hype will last once the Nvidia ouroboros ends and money stops being pumped into marketing.

ENTRANCED
I love to read and every once in a while, I find a book that I cannot put down, no matter what is happening around me. For those of you who have ever been lucky enough to encounter this transcendent state of being, this drawing is for you! 😀 Imagine curled up in your favorite comfy chair, with a hot cup of tea and plate of delicious cookies nearby. All of your "friends" surround you and you have found that peaceful space, entranced with the story before you.
