A gigantic rubber duck that’s the size of a six-story building is sitting beside Lake Ontario and in the waterfront district of Toronto. The duck is yellow and has an orange beak. This photo was taken across the street so you could see it in all of it’s duck-y glory.

Stepping stones across a stream at Bodnant Garden, Wales.

Large, flat-topped boulders in the stream lead to the other side which is bright and luminous with lush green grass, bushes and colourful trees in various shades of green and yellow. These reach up into a blue sky that has little white clouds. A green trellis swing gate which can block this route across the stream is open, acting as a handrail to help you cross.

View over a wide uninterrupted expanse of rough moorland grass. In the middle of the foreground the worn line of a path - peaty-brown earth - runs between a scattering of boulders. The route stretches on into the distance as a brighter green line of short grass against the pale yellow-green long grasses of the plateau. The path seems to go forever on. In the far distance the moor rises up further as darker green hills with isolated weathered rocks or ‘tors’ showing on the horizon. The landscape may seem bleak & desolate, but it is also beautiful. The sky is blue with fluffy white clouds.

Carina Nebula

The image is divided horizontally by an undulating line between a cloudscape forming a nebula along the bottom portion and a comparatively clear upper portion. Speckled across both portions is a starfield, showing innumerable stars of many sizes. The smallest of these are small, distant, and faint points of light. The largest of these appear larger, closer, brighter, and more fully resolved with 8-point diffraction spikes. The upper portion of the image is blueish, and has wispy translucent cloud-like streaks rising from the nebula below. The orangish cloudy formation in the bottom half varies in density and ranges from translucent to opaque. The stars vary in color, the majority of which have a blue or orange hue. The cloud-like structure of the nebula contains ridges, peaks, and valleys – an appearance very similar to a mountain range. Three long diffraction spikes from the top right edge of the image suggest the presence of a large star just out of view.

I have nothing to say about this other than to describe it. It’s the view from the road on the way down to the beach near here. The sun wasn’t setting. It was only about 13:30hrs. However the sun is very low in the sky at this time of year. The clouds are coloured by the pale sun and the sea shimmers with the reflection of it. In the foreground is a grassy slope that goes down to the gate which we use to access the seashore. In the far distance is the Island of Rhum.
