A composite showing the same black and white woodpecker but in 4 different positions overlayed in a single image. At bottom right it is perching on a branch looking up and to the left. Just to the left and up the bird is in flight with its wings at about 45 degree angles. Further up and to the left, the bird has its wings spread all the way wide, and finally, furthest to the left near the top the bird has its wings tucked all the way back against its body.

Once upon a time, in the Styrian Alps, I hiked up a mountain in the early morning darkness to photograph the sunrise. That was almost three years ago now, October 2019.

I've posted a few edits of this before, but this is the original that I haven't shown like this before. Unfortunately I don't have the RAW files anymore, so I can't edit it again by today's standards and technical possibilities.
