I've found that Gemini also has great difficulty staying on track and maintaining a "conversation". It always seems to wander off the train of investigation and on to something related (but different).

Big tech is gambling the economy on AI… and wants a bailout for it

SoSoTheDestroyer : This is my dissection of the AI bubble, including why it's more fragile than most people think it is and why we might be headed for another financial crisis. Oh, and the billionaires want a bailout, because of course they do.

An Astute Summary By One of the Commenters on the Video:

"Remember, that the reason RAM prices have gone up such a large percent is because a massive amount of not-yet-manufactured memory was bought with money that doesn't really exist to be put into GPUs that haven't been made yet, to be installed in data centers that haven't all been built yet, powered by infrastructure that cannot support it sustainably, to satisfy a demand that isn't actually there, in order to generate profits that are mathematically impossible."

What about NO.! I use #LINUX at 100% . No need to downgrade to a AI slop vibe coded #windows . Anybody can upgrade to Linux for free. Why should one ever PAY for bad unsecure software again ? Make donations to FSF or other OSS organisations if you use it .

Next the Epstein files will contain a fully translated copy of the Voynich manuscript.

In all seriousness its pretty obvious this is all one big red herring.

I was introduced to SVN and used it for over five years before I ever encountered GIT. That gave me an advantage in that I understood most of what GIT was doing (except rebase) even though the flow was a little different. I also prefer to use a UI for interacting with GIT over doing it from the command line.

this reminds me situation with CCleaner where hackers replaced download installation file and for few days people were downloading fake malware version of application.

breachspot.com/news/cyber-atta…

Such events show how important is security of servers where popular open source and free applications are stored.
Would be great if some anti hack/malware companies offered free options for FOSS developers. Or maybe they already provide and I'm not aware about it.

Adobe Is Ruthlessly Killing Off Software That Animators Around The World Are Using Every Day

On a page morbidly-titled "End of Life FAQ", the company writes:

Adobe Animate will no longer be available to download for new customers, beginning March 1, 2026. Enterprise customers can access the application, download their content, and receive technical support until March 1, 2029. For all other customers, technical support, application access, and the ability to download content will be available until March 1, 2027.

in reply to Muse

I left Aldus just before they got bought by Adobe. Not because of that, but anyway I never was much of an artist so never got to fall in love with Illustrator, and never really liked much of their other stuff. Nowadays Software-Ass, A Service? just fills me with rage.
in reply to Muse

I don't need to love software. I need to get whatever is in the circus going on inside my thick skull out into some representation of reality in an orderly procedural fashion that doesn't include dealing with software defects
