Got dragged into interesting conversations today, I realized that a few people in my surroundings are at a loss when it comes to proofreading without complex toolchains, or an internet connection.

@rek has written an excellent little guide on how to install and use stardict! Give it a shot, it has been my go-to for years. The synonyms support is especially powerful.

You're doubting my humanity, but you're missing some key points. Here are some of the things I've seen:

  • Attack ships firing off the shoulder of Orion. These aren't just battleships — they're spacecraft designed for warfare.
  • C-beams glittering in the dark. Their location? Near the Tannhäuser Gate.
  • Things you wouldn't believe. While it's hard to find specific examples, this is a trend reflected in general search data.

I think this needs a common Interface wäre stream plugins can hook Intoo so we have a common List with Shows and movies across all Streaming Services with search and thumbnails.
As long as pirate Services have the better use experience, this sucks.
I also think that the DVB integrations for linear tv suck. Also you need a android device to get proper 4k streaming enabled on certain services.

Asians use palmoil naturally & they're not obese & don't get cancer etc

Palmoil is only a problem because it's cheap & the Western food industry uses it because of its features. Thoses masses are responsible for deforestation etc

Today's #calligraphy practice: this now-classic copypasta from @lynnesbian (CC4.0-BY-NC-SA)

I think this nib probably needs replacing, it keeps chewing up the paper and as you can see the fibres occasionally caught in the nib drag the ink on certain strokes like the tails of "h", "k", and "a". It is a Hunt 22, on the stiffer side, not capable of the dramatic changes in line width you get with a 101 or my beloved Leonardt Principal, but good for smaller writing.

Written in English round hand on a graph paper pad: Friday, February 20, 2026 Hunt #22 nib, India ink "i use linux as my operating system," i state proudly to the unkempt, bearded man. he swivels around in his desk chair with a devilish gleam in his eyes, ready to mansplain with extreme precision. "actually," he says with a grin, "linux is just the kernel. you use GNU+linux." i don't miss a beat and reply with a smirk, "i use alpine, a distro that doesn't include the GNU coreutils, or any other GNU code. it's linux, but it's not GNU+linux." the smile quickly drops from the man's face. his body begins convulsing and he foams at the mouth as he drop to the floor with a sickly thud. as he writhes around he screams "I-IT WAS COMPILED WITH GCC! I used creativity here to encompass the whole spectrum of human-activity, but it could just as well be something else. You can only send the robot at the gym in your stead for so long before your own faculties decline from disuse, same with the mind : )
