Are we there yet?

Almost! 50 years ago today, in preparation for #Apollo17โ€™s descent through Earthโ€™s atmosphere, the Service Module, which powered the missionโ€™s flight to the Moon and back, was separated from the Command Module. #Apollo50th

Hey everyone,

I'm Haruko and I'm an independent CG artist and Creative Director working in product visualization and illustrative editorial work.

I use Cinema 4D, Zbrush, Redshift and very occasionally Octane. Curious to see what others are up to in the space!

I just started dabbling in food sculpting in Zbrush, which is my newest obsession when I'm not on client work!

Feel free to check out my work on IG: instagram.com/harukohayakawa/

Architecture was my career choice as a teen. I loved designing and drafting the plans. And I was good at it, winning awards at the Texas state level all four years of high school.

I didn't study #architecture in college because they were moving away from #drafting on paper (what I loved) to AutoCAD. Ironically, I've been in tech since 1998. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธโค๏ธ

Haha, I don't share your language preferences. At the risk of opening up a can of worms could you share your top point(s) about why you prefer Ruby over PHP?

I was told by my Friendica admin that it is is low resource and easy to self host. I agree that if you don't need the computing resources better not to consume them.

Weirdly satisfying to see @internetarchive's Wayback Machine checking, and attempting to archive, everything I ever tweeted, including every link in every tweet.
As you can see from the screenshot, these are many thousand tweets. Everything I ever did over there, from 2006 to 2022, now finished and safely kept beyond the reach of ๐Ÿฆ or any other trackers or barriers.

I exspect the creators of this to be struck by lightning any second. (Although the result seems to be correct seeing the numbers.) #Names washingtonpost.com/business/inโ€ฆ

We need, in the words of Noah Feinstein, to make sure that everyone is at least a competent outsider to science: someone who has "learned to recognize the moments when science has some bearing on their needs and interests and to interact with sources of scientific expertise in ways that help them achieve their own goals." onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10โ€ฆ
in reply to Carl T. Bergstrom

My argument, at its core, is that to do that, we need to teach people why science deserves their trust โ€“ and this requires teaching how science works as a social institution. I've written about this in brief in a Science American article: scientificamerican.com/articleโ€ฆ

I'm leaving #Twitter for the time being. I'll keep the account around, but that's it. No more posts, and I uninstalled the app. I'll stick to #Mastodon for now!

KDE Plasma gets Wayland Fractional Scaling, Fixing Multi-Screen and a Steam Deck updater

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Iโ€™ve been running GNOME for a bit but I might have to try KDE again, not just for the fractional scaling but also because I guess you can tell it to let xwayland clients handle their own scaling (read Steam, or some code editors) now? Instead of doing the blurry scaling on those windows you can let them just run direct and if they support hidpi no more blurriness!
