'Gene duplication and diversification allow hosts to mutate otherwise essential genes, whereas changes in transcriptional regulation can selectively activate genes should their constitutive expression be detrimental. To counter mutational tolerance, it has been suggested that viruses target essential genes as host cofactors, because the genes are less prone to variability'

Finished building the tree. Sadly the camera doesn’t really do justice on the lights.

So, just to avoid any confusion, when you run Windows 11, the product you are using is Windows 10. The Windows version is 2009 (which of course doesn't fall between versions 2008 and 2016, duh). So if you are using Windows Server 2022, the product is called 2022 but the version is 2009 because those two numbers seem like the same but they aren't.

The "Windows Current Version" for Windows 11 is 6.3. But don't use that number because Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 were also version 6.3. Windows 8 was 6.2.

Or if you want, just use build number 22621, also known as 22H2. The version 22H2 update is also called the "Windows 11 2022 update" because there never was a 22H1. But at least they changed their naming scheme and didn't call it Fall update because it was spring in half the world when it came out, heh.

With the trend of combining buttons to a fault I'm so confused why SE added a seperate button to release tank stance #FFXIV #FinalFantasyXIV
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I'm guessing there must've been more tanks than people realized that complained about how easy it was to accidentally deactivate stance. If that's the case it makes sense, even if it takes up toolbar space. Now we can put the deactivation button faaar to the side where it can't hurt us, while we keep our stance button nice n close lol

My latest in Puck on #TikTok & a possible ban:

"It’s risky to build on someone else’s property. Ownership of our data, social graph, and financial relationships has great value. How many times do we have to lose our followers on a social network to realize they were never ours? Unless we have a way to reach them outside the walled garden, such as an email address, mobile number, or credit card number, then they belong to the garden, not to us. We’re just sharecroppers."

Long COVID made me retreat from the world, entering into the realm of invisible illnesses where sufferers are ignored, dismissed and struggle to find the help they need.

"As I searched for answers I discovered a medical system woefully inadequate for conditions like mine. I’m slowly making my way back to a new normal, not quite healthy but able to live.

"But for those without sick leave, money, the ability to advocate for themselves and a fair amount of luck, the chances of recovery are much lower.

"And while long COVID and other similar conditions like myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) are often described as a “mystery”, the truth is they have a history of being ignored and dismissed by medicine."

in reply to Muse

Society selects human animals for the traits that produce the most value for the wealthy and privileged human beings. Unless there's a personal interest or investment diseased animals are discarded and shunned.
