Vivaldi is right now the most popular mobile app in Norway as people seek alternatives to Big Tech. I hope you give us a try as well, if you have not already!

We at Vivaldi are the only browser company with a Mastodon server. We have chosen to support the Fediverse in every way we can. We will continue to do so as we need options away from Big Tech.

@foaylward @lpryszcz @Psy_Fer_ @Vivaldi take full page screenshots or capturing selections of a page as an image was a feature I always appreciated with Firefox, and now I've found it on #Vivaldi too ๐Ÿฅณ

#Vivaldi browser has a fantastic page tiling feature which I have been finding super useful when reading preprints on #bioRxiv, where the tables and figures can often be inconveniently right at the back, away from the relevant text. Also super useful when following links to references ๐Ÿ‘

+1 reason why you must stop using Chrome and, if possible, Chromium browsers

(Upd: link to a post in Fediverse with tech details fedi.simonwillison.net/@simon/โ€ฆ)

(Upd 2: MS Edge seems to have this issue; #Vivaldi also has it but it can be disabled; Ungoogled Chromium doesn't have it at all)

It turns out Google Chrome ships a default, hidden extension that allows code on `*.google.com` access to private APIs, including your current CPU usage

You can test it out by pasting the following into your Chrome DevTools console on any Google page:

chrome.runtime.sendMessage(
"nkeimhogjdpnpccoofpliimaahmaaome",
{ method: "cpu.getInfo" },
(response) => {
console.log(JSON.stringify(response, null, 2));
},
);

One day after launching Vivaldi on iOS, Vivaldi is the top iPad app in Norway and #5 on iPhones. Not a bad start at all. We are on the list in many other countries as well.

Make sure to share the great news with all your friends! @Vivaldi is now available!

I remember when that album came out; it was revolutionary! Many arguments abt whether it was 'okay' to manipulate a revered classical composer's work in that way. Fast forward to #MaxRichter etc doing wonderful adjustments of #Vivaldi etc. Progress!
