The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance."

This week Meta released their new app Threads. If your Mastodon admins don’t block them on their own, you can do it yourself. In Edit profile → Import and Export → Import you can use the import type ’Domain blocking list‘ to upload a csv file that should contain threads.net and threads.instagram.net: https://gist.github.com/veit/105692111f2d62eb3c8740f1fea3a8eb#file-blocked_domains-csv
