In 2025, #PLOSBiology continues to advocate for policy based on scientific evidence.

I feel strongly about the need for evidence-based policy and a dogged defence of science. I said it in 2020, and will reiterate it til the end of time.

The world may change - our principles should not.

This 2020 Editorial, “We need leaders that believe in scientific evidence”, resonates today as loudly as ever: plos.io/34lyl59.

PLOS Biology also continues to push for DEI and a diverse scientific community:

it's funny it is called "Zima"Cube for a homelab thing. Because it sounds suspiciously like "Zimmer" in German which describes a room in someones home.

Current events have shown how important it is to massively shift away from billionaire social media platforms. For our mental health, for democracy itself!

There is much to do to convince people that decentralised social media is not only good enough; its lack of feed algorithms makes it *better*. After all, feed algorithms serve platform owners, not platform users.

Help us campaign for this historic shift. We offer 3-9 week fellowships to

An article with the contents backwards

1. Instructions
2. Why you might be interested

With, yet again, a post with no explanation of the topic (Kodi builds).

This is poor writing and not respectful of readers time. You can surely do better by exercising a little consideration and editing it with these points in mind.

Indicate in the post what the topic is about.
Explain up front what the benefits are.
Then provide instructions.

7 Ways to Get Better at Small Talk—And Why You Should

"Despite the benefits, many of us hate small talk. We often assume that the people around us aren’t interested in talking or won’t like us—but research indicates that we tend to underestimate how much our conversation partners enjoy our company, a phenomenon called “the liking gap.”

"'We all have this negative voice in our heads that tells us we’re not very good at this social stuff,” Sandstrom says. “But the data suggest that people actually like you more than you think they do.'"

Construir genealogías dispersas e inspiraciones para transformar el mundo es el objetivo de esta compilación, para incitar prácticas de libre apropiación del feminismo, sobre todo como revoltura frente al orden...

Not a bad hair day for Phage 7-7-1

Noteworthy — While the phages χ and PBS1 attach to the flagella of their hosts via the tail fibers, phage 7-7-1 of Agrobacterium sp. H13-3 has another trick up its sleeve – or better: on its head (capsid). Noteborn et al. Found that phage 7-7-1 sports a bunch of dreadlocks on its head, proteinaceous fibers with which it attaches to host flagella.
