For irreligious evangelicals, Christianity is about politics—not God
It’s no secret that many self-described “evangelicals” are actually not religiously engaged.David Myers (Quartz)

I cannot express enough how sweet my cats are. They are gentle, kind, and affectionate. Not a hint of malice in their soul. And softer than any plushie.
I gave a TED talk last year, and I was invited to be a guest on the TED Radio Hour to put it into some more context. You can listen (and watch!) here!

🚨 Tor Browser opsec discovery: The security level slider cannot be relied upon without a full browser restart: privacyguides.org/articles/202…
If you frequently switch between security levels in Tor Browser (or Mullvad Browser!), make sure you are fully restarting the browser every time, otherwise you could still unexpectedly have dangerous JS features enabled!
This requirement is not publicly documented anywhere. Hopefully @torproject will add a prompt to restart after modifying this setting in a future Tor Browser release.

"The Sound of Rain", Scotland (2024).
From an early morning scout down on a loch shore, I initially went to see what these small ponds would look like facing in the complete other direction. When I approached on foot, I came over a small crest and was suddenly presented with gorgeous glowing light, the sound of soft rain on the water's surface, a perfectly framed mountain, and a fragment of ancient woodland.

That's why when someone says "Thank god." I often reply with "You're welcome."
(My cats, on the other hand know that they, each, are god.)

It's just that up until about the 1960's (in the USA at least), "evangelicals" were a fringe minority. One preacher per congregation, more or less. Once they got on TV though, well that made some of them far more powerful, unfortunately, and some of them abuse that power massively.
