Short #news about a rare bird find. But let's hallucinate with some 'ea', the sound of bird, and the author's name, hey, it must be a beaver! Photo without source: the blurry effects seem to come from a video still, the "download" was not erased, no source (probably the trail cam). No sense because no link to a beaver article.
In my times, no matter how drunk the final editor might have been at night, that never happened.

Discussions about digital sovereignty are 🔥
Which countries lead the way?
@nextcloud created an Index ranking countries based on the relative presence of self-hosted tools across key application areas.
1. Finland 🇫🇮
2. Germany 🇩🇪
3. The Netherlands 🇳🇱

hmm, i skimmed through the limitations and couldn't see any comment on the topic of if the services hosted in a country are aimed at the people living in that country or for people in other countries.
i mean, there are some very popular data centers in finland, for example, but many of the clients are from other european countries. so the score for finland gets artificially inflated.
Thanks for your interest in the research!
We tried to point out that location ≠ ownership: A server’s IP may be in one country, while its users or data reside elsewhere. If a country outsources hosting, its index score may fall, while a country that hosts data from other countries sees its index rise – regardless of control or access.

Last night we went to see Into The Woods (the show we sponsored). It was an Equity production, which means professional actors, professional director, etc. The words spoken on stage, even while singing, were almost always quite clear - no mumbling, no tsunami-like musical overlay (of course, being a musical, there was music, but it was under control), and the sound effects were well fenced (like the giant's steps, via big subwoofers, that moved towards the stage while the trees - real trees - shook.)
The other night we watched a Netflix thing about the rise of Hollywood - it mentioned radio station KFWB (the WB being for Warner Brothers). I used to listen to that station all the time for news. And in law school one of my classmates was one of the news announcers. When he spoke the classroom filled with his voice - it physically occupied the volume of

I still have to turn the volume down/up constantly and enable closed captions so the loud parts don't bother my neighbors while I get the gist of the scene (CC is usually an utter cesspool of inaccuracy - a filthy joke punching down on hearing impaired.)
I'm tired of (IMO) parasitic institutions that are only interested in focusing on exploiting the wealthy.
