Interesting "Communist" view of the history of Zionism. With anything by "official" communism the content is interesting, the conclusion and path to action is generally the path we should not take, so please be critical of this part of any of these podcasts

" But, once, we are told the sun forsook his reign;

Scorning to dip his chariot in the main,

He stormed the pole and fired the frozen sky;

Melted each mountain; sucked each ocean dry,

'Till in the mud the dolphins seemed to fry.

Dispoiled of ice the mountains seemed to flow

In liquid fire upon the plains below."

You want to know why GNOME devs are "toxic"? Because they're regularly dealing with entitled users.

If you have nothing to add, then don't bother commenting. Get lost; we don't want you.

People shouldn't be engaging with projects just to start drama however the reason people engage is because they know they're going to get a reaction everytime. GNOME has a CoC if somebody is breaking it don't start a fight with them just get rid of them over time people will stop trying to fight with the maintainers
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@BrodieOnLinux From me THE Wayland "propagandist" will get nothing but nice comments most of the time but I can imagine what you have to deal with at times! I have more than enough issues dealing with stupidity on platforms like Lemmy and considering how easy I can be to trigger I am very happy to moderate nothing whatsoever!
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@BrodieOnLinux
Couldn't say better myself. I'll just add that continuous interaction with trolls indirectly gives an original reporter and other participants injustice. Why? Because, now that discussion got flooded with other disturbances and MR got locked as a result, nobody gets to contribute a word.
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@BrodieOnLinux Why can't people just be nice online?

Yes I know this is a pipe dream just let me have this

in reply to Ren

@rogueren Why can't people be nice in person, work any customer facing position and you quickly realize some people are just assholes

If you're willing to encounter Gaza as a place of culture and life, not just the scenes of horror we see on the news, see the extraordinary work of our doctoral student Naim Aburaddi—the Phoenix of Gaza project: colorado.edu/cmcinow/student-w…

We gathered testimonies from #Gaza to understand the devastating impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on innocent civilians.

Are you from Gaza? We want to hear from you: what's the situation like from the ground? How do you keep safe? What's changed since last week?

I have a preprint: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/…

Title: Scalable distance-based phylogeny inference using divide-and-conquer

I suggest a divide-and-conquer method as an alternative to Neighbour Joining, building on old ideas but with a couple of new (I think) advantages.

You can easily try it out: install "dnctree" from PyPI.org!

Am very impressed by your first steps with Fediverse accounts for Wikimedia and Wikipedia efforts, and integrating “rel-me” mastodon compatible web standards for Identity. Do you see other places to integrate #activityPub and #WikiMedia platforms?
in reply to Tim Chambers

In follow-up to what Tim is saying, the social-collaborative aspects of knowledge gathering and curation lend themselves well to decentralized social networking.

Furthermore what the explosion of personal knowledge management tools shows, is that there's multiple spheres of knowledge, connected but having different requirements. Roughly: personal --> communal --> common knowledge. Concept of "gardening" can be used.

I took notes on this in: discuss.coding.social/t/semmy-…
