Despite Eurovision's denials, an analysis reveals that the broadcast silenced crowd discontent during Israeli singer Eden Golan’s performance. theintercept.com/2025/05/17/eu…

During my days in Croatia, one of the best things I did was take a ferry from Split to Supetar. Here, you can see some people chilling on the ferry while we waited to arrive on the island.

I took two film cameras on this trip and used all my film. I was especially curious to see how this one would behave since it was heavily expired, but it worked fine.

US citizen says ICE mistakenly took him into custody outside Massachusetts courthouse

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —A U.S. citizen said he was mistakenly taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents outside a Massachusetts courthouse Friday. He was later released after agents confirmed his identity. Hugo Monteiro, a 31-year-old Brazilian American from Revere, said he was taken by ICE agents outside Cambridge District Court when they confused him for another person.

#AI is killing the joy I feel with a lot of things lately. That's not a great feeling. But you can explain it if you compare AI with frozen pizza.

@Blf_tpe The constant stream of knowledge that's always available is called Wikipedia, and being able to use a search engine, and we've had it for over two decades.

@Gargron hi ! I’m editing my answer because it’s you <img class=" title=":mastodon:"/> I think AI is a big enabler for FOSS as it makes FOSS and Linux way more accessible for non-tech persons like me. Starting on Linux and needing a bit of DIY in one’s software takes time at first, and ChatGPT makes the process fun and improves dramatically the learning curve.

Greece Klavdia's "Asteromata" really grows on me. She looks very Nana Mouskouri.

Switzerland Zoe Me's "Voyage" is sweet and tender. It's not flashy, but it is sooo heartfelt.!

#Iceland tested a reduced workweek 2014-2019:

”A pair of trials covering 1.3 per cent of the Icelandic workforce revealed that slashing weekly hours led to better employee #wellbeing, with less stress and burnout, while #productivity stayed the same or improved. The positive results sparked union pressure in Iceland, and now 86% of Icelandic workers either work shorter weeks or have the right to ask to do so.“

Overall I would say that Semi-finals One was more fun than Semi-finals Two. The recent semi-final had more stereotypical Eurovision songs, and not as many that felt authentic. Too many people wanting to win and not enough wanting to share a song with their audience. I don't always like who Australia sends to Eurovision. But Go-Jo should have been a shoo-in for the Grand Final. His song "Milkshake Man" was as good as another favourite "Espresso Macchiato". I didn't expect him to win Eurovision, but he should have been heard from twice.

Anyway! Some favourites from Semi-finals Two!

Austria "Wasted Love". WOW! What a VOICE! @Joyce Donahue, you might like this.

Australia "Milkshake Man". Go-Jo's performance was impeccable. We even get a cool magic trick!

Luxembourg "La Poupée Monte Le Son". The singer is definitely vibing with The Barbie Movie. Here in Australia we get English...excuse me Australian...subtitles (done by our channel SBS). The lyrics are brilliantly feminist.

I liked Germany "Baller" It was a fun dance song.

And the headline from Reuters says JJ just won. Cool.

@gamingonlinux Crazy question. You mention Steam should denote games with Denuvo activation. Is it noted on Steam before you buy the game, or only after it is purchased? gamingonlinux.com/2025/05/denu…

@tripplehelix You need to see @benburns storytelling. Either on the No Rolls Barred channel or the official Blood on the Clocktower channel. Here is a random pick that might be easy to get into:

Spending the rest of my afternoon captioning the next month worth of IG posts because I am Zuck's bitch.

I feel dirty still having a presence on IG and FB. I wish my clients weren't there.

When I needed a professional photographer, I went on Google Maps to find one near the area where I live, and then went on their website to evaluate. I don't use Instagram so I find it a bit difficult to imagine how you can use it for that purpose, but I might be an outlier.

Would you recommend using other SBC over Raspberry Pi for a cost effective server? Pi is good but it feels costly

that’s an article I’ve been waiting for quite a while 🙌🏻

P.S.: not much has changed since I tried that myself. Still no support for Pi 5, still boots for ages, still looks great though (especially with #KDE 😈)

I'm enjoying the combination of fediverse lag, celebration and exhortation as the EU crosses the line in a petition to ban conversion therapy. About 40% WE ARE SO CLOSE KEEP GOING, 40% WE DID IT, LET'S KEEP GOING and 20% SOME SIGNATURES ARE ALWAYS DISCOUNTED KEEP GOING, the whole thng is beautiful and amazing and inspiring and if you're in Europe just go put your name down.
