Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash gamingonlinux.com/2026/03/lutr…

#Lutris #AI #OpenSource #Linux

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

I think using AI to speed up development is acceptable, especially when the code undergoes thorough review. The main concern here isn’t the use of AI itself, but the removal of Claude’s co-authorship. Keeping the co-authorship would help future developers spot which parts of the code might need extra fact-checking during bug fixes or maintenance.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

great job on this article, what you emphasized and the questions you chose to point out make it less a drama than a real opportunity to think about it from (sometimes depressed) devs... (even though I will stop using lutris anyway..)

there are so many "edge case words" in english (and most languages, but i only know english), like how more than one ox become oxen, or how removing almost all of your data leaves you with a single datum. after you speak, you haven't "speaked", you've spoken.

i wish companies would occasionally insist on doing this for their neologisms. it would be very funny to me specifically (and my opinion is, of course, of great import).

now that you have a second kindle, you have two kindlen. after i zoom you, we won't have "zoomed", we will have zaam. can you bing something for me? let me know when you've bung it. i need to sync that to my galaxies S26.

in reply to Lynnesbian

nah languages naturally have a tendency to simplify as time goes by, not saying it wouldn't be funny though :blobcat:
in reply to Lynnesbian

on the same note, i was recently thinking what if more english words were like fish and didn't add the -(e)s in plural forms like bus or fence or ass

we would say "MacBooks". Because of course we didn't make it as easy as having one consistent plural ending in German. I mean... have you met us?
Oh, and please don't rely on us using the ending of the language we got the word from. That would be silly... We'll just decide to change that over time. Sometimes. Or not. 🤷

Ianthe Tridentarius did nothing wrong.

In fact she has shown incredible loyalty to everyone she is even remotely close to.

Except Babs but he never showed her any loyalty either.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I love this one. Not bad, but not my favorite thing that I've heard out of them.

I just recently came around on Act V and declared Act IV the best TDH, so maybe by 2030 I'll think Antimai is the best TDH record and give this one a shot.

Warning: You Have 14 Days to Prepare for Hyperinflation

The media is calling the massive spike in gas prices a "blip." It's a lie. The American supply chain is having a heart attack, and the working class has exactly 14 days before the geopolitical fallout in the Middle East triggers total retail hyperinflation.

From the crippling fuel surcharges decimating owner-operator truckers to corporate algorithms slapping a "War Tax" on your groceries, this is how the U.S. government is systematically liquidating your paycheck to fund the destruction of another country. You have two weeks to prep your pantry before $4 ground beef becomes a memory and you are forced to finance your Sunday dinner. While the politicians chest-beat and the mega-corporations pad their quarterly margins with a "Support the Troops" sticker, you are the one paying the ultimate price for a fading global empire.

Is anyone using #Julia in #Emacs ? How about with tree-sitter and Eglot?

Running into weird errors on my work machine…

in reply to nebunez

I write Julia code in Emacs all the time. I do not, however, use either tree-sitter or eglot but rely instead on xref and ctags.

What kinds of errors do you encounter?

in reply to éric 🚲 🇪🇺

@ericsfraga
I had some weird package errors at first but they were resolved after a removing the dirs and reinstalling.

now i'm trying to figure out how to get julia-vterm to install packages in my project directory instead of the global directory it made
