Still very much in the “middle draft” stage, but I feel like it's time to share a bit of/start hyping the thing I've spent *way* too much free time on over the past couple of months. Hoping to have it done to the point of release by the end of the month.
It’s a new, approximately 15-minute orchestration of an existing piece of videogame music. Points to anyone who can name it 🙂
Noisebridge is an anarchist hackerspace community in SF with tons of equipment for you to learn, play, create, and share.
We have a laser cutter, sewing machines, a wood shop, electronics bench, music room, meeting spaces, and more! We're run entirely by volunteers and donations.

This talk on using open source software went extremely well, with very keen audience engagement, including several walk-ins who happened by (it was held in a publicly open space in the back of a pub). Tough questions, but answerable and enjoyable.
This only makes it clearer to me that there is an appetite for this type of discussion, and more of it.

You end up paying ~€50/month for Mastodon hosting 👀
It also opens up interesting questions: what happens when a popular account joins your instance (hint: it will probably cost the instance maintainers quite a bit… I don’t envy the mastodon.nu folks right now).

Hi, I'm Michelle and I got into #GameDev a couple of years ago in my mid-thirties after a lifetime of wondering how games actually worked. Turns out, it's complicated!
So far I've done the obligatory too-soon dive into a "dream game" that failed almost immediately due to lack of skill, and then dialled it back a bit to work on a few game jams instead.
Here's a screenshot from my latest jam entry, a tiny low poly hidden object game for the #RainbowJam 2022 which was my first time doing anything proper with 3d. Very proud!
