convinced stuff like this is why the game is such a huge success - it lets you have a moment of quiet emotional connection with another random player with the backdrop of oppressive fascist violence.

More games need that kind of TLC.

What a beautiful surprise: @mayfirst just sent out an email to co-op members about my book, #GovernableSpaces. So much in the book is inspired by my own time as a member. This means more than I can say.

Free PR tip, don’t use light coloured links on a light coloured background. Make the Steam page link strong and prominent. This is a bad example:

I almost missed it, thinking it was another random PR email that didn’t even include it.

Jalapeños are less spicy now because big pepper product producers procure alternate heat for their products anyway and farmers generally produce what the big pepper product producers want. “I’ve worked in peppers in my entire life.” (At least they made Brussels sprouts taste better, too.) dmagazine.com/food-drink/2023/…

Have you ever interacted with the Public Interest Technology University Network? They are a New America foundation joint. Do you know of any orgs that are home to, or could be home to, a community of practice? We are looking to connect to work on gov issues across SDOs like the W3C/IETF/IGF/etc but from a more communitarian perspective. Still needs refining, but basically we want to establish transnational polycentric user-agency-focused governance for the entire digital sphere! 😂😜
in reply to Chad Kohalyk

I haven't. That is quite an ambition!

I have been appreciating the governance design of @karrot @nick in the context of foodsharing communities.

This is an amazing story historically, and scientifically. If it were printed out, I would call it a page-turner!

Against the odds, a tiny Icelandic town speaks of a local Black ancestor. Geneticists and historians combine forces to uncover the man’s eventful life.

A Trail Gone Cold

in reply to Muse

@Muse Absolutely wonderful. Unless you know something about your own genealogy and DNA, you're like a left blowing in the wind, not knowing what tree you come from.
@Muse
in reply to Muse

Sadly, not all families are worth remembering by their recent members. Trauma from abuse often requires person putting ancestry out of their mind in order to maintain emotional well-being. Yes acknowledge the past, but then move foreward.

COSMIC Desktop Alpha Is Only Weeks Away!! #Linux #YouTube youtu.be/FoDBjLEsivQ
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I'm really looking forward to see what COSMIC brings to the DE-landscape 😃 I hope it's a silky smooth user experience once it leaves beta in the far future 😎
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Although I'm not a tiling window user PoP_OS certainly has that feature down better than any other DE. It boggles my mind that KDE or Gnome have never thought to try and implement similar functionality. It seems Cosmic's tiling mode has already had features added to what PoP_OS has had for 3 years already.

Oooh, is this new? (Rhetorical question - even if it is not new, it seems new to me!)
I really like how mastodon (in the version currently running on mastodon.social) explains how blocks work!

P.S. Obviously not blocking this particular account, used it as an example 😅
