A tall plume of goldenrod covered in tiny, vibrant, yellow flowers at the top of its stem with long, thin, spearlike, green leaves below, blooming among other vegetation, including some green honey locust leaves (I think) and a couple of tall, blooming teasels with pink-purple flowers on the spiny heads. There is a big, yellow and black striped bumblebee browsing on one of the flowering teasels.

i feel sorry for all the people who lived through the era of non-standard QWERTY layouts.

you spend a week typing on your dad's Silicon Logistics eQuill+ and get used to pressing SHIFT and SYMBOL LOCK to convert the percent key to a hash symbol. then you get home to your Perry & Samson Electro-Mechanical TypeScribe and whoops, your muscle memory kicks in when you try to type a hash! you've actually just pressed ALT and SUPER to turn the ยฝ key into a less than or equal to symbol! time to get out the correctional fluid and move the carriage back one character, which is achieved by pressing a key labelled something obtuse like "CRG. REV."!

xerox 6016 memory writer. it's an electronic typewriter. it has a qwerty layout with unusual punctuation keys - for example, there's a dedicated ยฝ key, on which you can type ยผ by holding shift
the "space cadet" keyboard. again, it's based around a qwerty layout, but all the punctuation is where you'd least expect it (barring the number row, which is the same as a standard US keyboard). you have not only shift, control, and super, but also hyper and meta!

#PhoneTrack is great. I have been using it as described, on my server, for more than a year. It took me some time to quite understand how the various settings influence the granularity of the tracking, but I have arrived at a setup that is pretty much what the tracker on Google Maps can do--but without Google involved. Sharing with others (on the same server) also works well. Replacing the PhoneTrack Android app is also quite possible if desired. I have arrived on a mostly-working self-written app for this, feeding into the #Nextcloud backend.

Many thanks to @controlfreak for closing down RFFF25 with what chat seemed to reckon was a bit of a barn burner. Outstanding chat banter, comraderie and support everyone!

Tea was spilt and the offending mug remained on stream along with the chief engineer [roll of gaffers tape], we learnt about cymbal restraint, and had a bit of a synthpop sing song to boot.
