Anger. Anger. Hate. Hate. Hate. Defeatism. Cynicism. More hate and anger. Pessimism. YELLING! Vicious put-downs. Talk of violence. Anger. Anger.

Does this sound healthy? What does this do to a person's sense of well-being? Does it help anyone? How demotivating is this? This isn't just MAGA. Plenty of other people wallow in this stuff.

Find even the smallest amount of caring and courage inside, then go outside and help build a better world!

I watch enough new to keep informed but don't pay attention to every little tidbit. I love my walks, being out in nature when I can watching things that make me laugh, spending time with family & friends, reading is my best escape, so many books, so many places to go to through when I read. 😍 My motto is to be kind, smile when you pass someone on the sidewalk, say Hi or good morning, acknowledge you saw them. Smile, it costs nothing. ☺️
Good post @Muse.

We want to port Haiku to the RK356x platform 🙂

It's a long term plan but once Haiku port for RK356x is done and ready, we'll:

- Deprecating our ALARM-based Linux distro in favor of Haiku.

- All new PineTab2 will ship with Haiku instead of traditional ALARM-based Linux distro.

- Existing users will still remain on ALARM, however there'll not be any updates (user will receive "there is nothing to do" when they tried to update it)

yay a little build script for a little project 😀
in reply to katherine

it feels really helpful and comforting to know a little bit of shell scripting and python for these cases! i definitely don't know a lot, but it's just enough that i don't have to feel beholden to the npm/javascript/node environment and can do something a lot more lightweight
in reply to katherine

it's great, well done!

I remember seeing the artist Ben Grosser speak a few years ago, where he said something along the lines of 'I'm not a good programmer, but I am good enough to figure out a way to do what I want to do'. I think this is a great way to think about code.

I spent this evening painting gorse thorns with tempera paint made with the ashes of burned drawings of gorse bushes that were drawn in charcoal made from gorse branches.

Got that?

guess I'll just wait on updating for that...it'll likely tank performance really hard at first.

I'd appreciate some more serious articles about how to think in #erlang/#elixir/#gleam so more about architecture, how to arrange code - I don't want to call it design pattern - but I need some conceptional food for thought 😀
in reply to Su-Shee

I recently went all-in on #Gleam at work and in personal projects, and I would love to see these kinds of articles as well.

🌐 El silencioso regreso del control central

Internet nació descentralizado: protocolos abiertos, servidores propios.

in reply to rhiz‏omancer 🪐🏴

@neauoire are you by any chance aware of some work doing “useful” computation with cellular automatons?
in reply to Artyom Bologov

if midi information as output is valid, and you consider orca a CA, then I'd say yes, it's very useful. It's likely the most efficient UX in terms of density for livecoding beating 1d textual representation. And it allows for the encoding of data in a very dense way.
llllllll.co/t/orca-livecoding-…

Someone else mentioned wireworld which works the same way, if you use the edge of the world as IO

Neural nets are not too far from cellular automata too, only they don't map to a rigid grid. But for tasks that aren't sequential, or can be distributed, CA are very efficient, think of Green Arrays for example.
wiki.xxiivv.com/site/neural_ne…

You can also consider the memory model behind BQN and APL as CA, as state changes on memory is applied non-deterministically.

the experiments with making a Turing machine in orca were definitely on my mind! And neural networks merge with CAs inti neural CAs, so yeah, it’s there.

Thanks for the reference!

And ONLYOFFICE project has been forked, so now there is an alternate open source version. I think its called Euro-Office (?).

Supported by a whole fleet of European open source companies, including NextCloud.

It will be interesting to see how that project develops.
