I'm actually pretty scared of cars which makes walking around america kind of shitty because whenever I'm walking down the street I get like this huge anxiety that a car going past me will hit me even though it doesn't make a lot of sense so it makes walking around streets pretty difficult. Even in my hometown where nothing happens

@Rasp Yeah I saw that, they are literally scamming people with warranty claims
It is easy to repair yourself though which is what I'd do anyways personally but yeah
Anything Asus is probably a no-go for me because of the warranty fraud they do

Those animals sure are crossing huh

I wholeheartedly agree with you on this (the message, not the title). It's why when I first wanted to donate to support Linux desktop I gave it to KDE cause I use/love KDE.
I wrote a post to encourage people to consider supporting projects they use.

https://phanpy.social is a pretty incredible Mastodon client. Entirely web based, looks great on mobile and desktop, you can configure your shortcuts that appear above or below the river of news.

Some screenshots from my own account: good notifications page, different kinds of toots get a different status, plus Boosts are shown in their own carousel.

I've heard one developer made all this, it's pretty incredible.

Seeing some folks out there who have no trouble identifying and opposing fanatical Christian fundamentalists in places like the US but fawning over Hamas and folks bad guys don’t become good guys just because they’re fighting other bad guys.

@neauoire have you seen this? The HVM folx built a higher level language on top of it!

I have been trying to figure out if there's a sleek way to do Multi-Player modal, I haven't figured anything out yet, but maybe soon!
in reply to Rhizomatic Arcade

the modal source might be a good communication format in itself, since each step of evaluation is basically a continuation.

Sending the rules-prefixed program state could allow comms between two players.

Transfems can totally double jump even I can do it.

looks cool but I prefer using regular Bitwarden as I can use it to fill my login info and it copies the code for me so that I only paste it. It's also synced to all my devices so I don't need to have a phone open at all times to get to my codes.

Fast, simple, encrypted, convenient.

And also self hosted

A map I drew to document our northbound transit through the Yuculta and Dent Rapids(B.C, Canada), where it's necessary to ride some back currents to make forward progress if the goal is to pass the two rapids in one go.

Hey #believeinfilm friends,

There's a film photographers' competition deadline coming up with a $1,000 cash prize for the first place (and other prizes, inc. exhibition).

It's called Analog Sparks. Entry fees range from $10 to $25, which is quite reasonable in my opinion.

Details: https://www.analog.cafe/comments/lgvg

fuck. it’s finally happened. i misread ffmpeg as ffmpreg fully unprompted

@neauoire ya know I think this would be the thing that would be hardest for me to adjust to living on the sea- I kinda can’t stand when my hair gets oily… does shampoo + saltwater make things better or worse?

anyways, now I'm just waiting for Fedora to update all the packages (god I hate how slow DNF is)

Jewish people are BIPOC. Facts instead of ignorance and propaganda show clearly that Jews are an Indigenous Brown (etc.) culture from the Middle East.

Anyone that says or shares otherwise is being racist, anti-Indigenous and anti-Semitic.

And like most Indigenous cultures there have been exile, travel, and intermarriage.

Focus on skin color is a white racist thing. Most cultures span light to dark skin colors. Skin color is meaningless except to racists.

Culture erasure is racist.

A lot of people seem to have adopted the erroneous belief that liberation involves the oppressed switching places with their oppressors.

Freedom is not revenge and it’s not getting a turn to exploit and oppress.

Turns out when you build a co-op news org, you get awesome coverage of co-ops.

New from the @coloradosun: A workers’ co-op rises from the remains of a Colorado mushroom farm https://coloradosun.com/2024/05/19/undocumented-workers-sand-dunes-mushroom-co-op/

Do you see a series of sunken rectangles or 16 circles?

This is The Coffer Illusion.

Our brains are geared toward identifying objects & here, “pixels” are grouped to form edges & contours, shapes, & objects. The image is inherently ambiguous so there is no “right” grouping.

Rectangles dominate first for most people - including me, but keep staring & the image may flip to circles.

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

as others said I very quickly learned how to change my perception at will. That's very surprising as I don't recall any illusion were I was able to do that (or at least so easily).
