The open source vim-like spreadsheet program sc-im is wonderful to work with. If you use Vim regularly, it quickly becomes intuitive.
sc-im is entirely viable as a LibreOffice Calc or Microsoft Office Excel alternative in the terminal. It even supports embedded Lua scripting. It's a one-man passion project that really needs more hands.

Given that males are over represented in tech and that 1 in 12 of us are color blind, I am puzzled why major software vendors continue to make bad choices. One system I use uses little colored dots to indicate the status of components. They all look the same to me. Rage inducing.

Jesus fucking Christ, I'd forgotten how genuinely awful open source graphics and design apps are at, well everything, but specifically text design. Undo, redo, copy, and paste regularly broken.
Then when you decide to do things manually you get this shit
You came into my mentions and spoke to me specifically and directly. That's a major difference
Open source design and photography software are notoriously resistant to feedback about design, usability, and bugs, even to the point of responding with outright hostility. I've been burned several times before
There's plenty of great open source software that pays attention to UX and listens to end users. But there is something specifically dysfunctional in design and photography OSS
I understand, it's not like I didn't ever have my struggles with oss. But also the community matters, maybe there is a reason some oss got better eg. Blender or Kdenlive and some not much.
Regardless, it's always fair to point out the issues or complain about them but devaluing the work of 10s or 100s of developers is not fair IMHO.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have an OS partition on an Android phone?
I'd like to try a couple (eos, lineage, etc) but don't want to break everything that works, or wipe Android completely until I'm sure I can do without it. Having trouble finding an answer through online searches so any advice appreciated.
Also, any guides/tips?
There are some handsets which can run a bootloader which will allow you to select boot device at startup time (eMMC vs sd card, for example), but that's highly hardware-dependent.
