Hey! I've rarely come across people who know this is a cover! People were passing around loads of songs during the 60s folk era.

One of my favorite features of @moshidon: multi-account support with long-pressing post actions. This means I can browse with an alternate account, like a brand account or whatever, and reply, boost, or favorite things with my personal account. It’s great!

Been trying this out secretly for the past few weeks — a "catch-up" timeline page. Did whole bunch of iterations, where I myself is the guinea pig, but this time reaching a point where I just got to share it out in the public.

- NOT final design, still very experimental, only on my local machine
- Instead of algo timeline, this is focused on data-grid-like UI for configuring exactly what I want to see.
- This honestly could be another full-fledged app/client by itself 🫠

in reply to Eugen Rochko

@Gargron Yes, thanks. I’ll definitely be using it but Phanpy is used by a tiny fraction of the people who use native Mastodon, so I’d like to see such an amazing and highly requested feature available for everyone.

Or is this the kind of feature that you prefer to only implement in the mobile apps, and leave to other app devs to implement client-side like Chee Aun has done here?

There are massive differences in the GHG emissions of different foods & "local" isn't always best for the environment.

This chart continues to be a great reference I return to in my work. Source: ourworldindata.org/food-choice… #science #climate #food

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

Well, there are a lot of reasons people prefer local foods besides the GHG costs of shipping. “Local” is usually also shorthand for smallIer, farmer-owned rather than corporate, more diversified, and more sustainably farmed. All of which worth supporting. But I guess it is worth noting that plant foods are still low GHG impact even if they travel a long way by freighter.
in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

what's misleading about these charts though is people use them to confirm "eating beef is killing the planet" so
you need to give the full context before mindless people start badgering everyone.... At 0.2% C02 the plants die. so.... you need a base load of GHG. We wouldn't want it to keep going up but we don't want it to drop either. the reality is its not as bad as people are making out

I'm running a 2-day workshop in Manorhamilton, Ireland on sensors and systems for art. The technical process will be to create a flow from human-> sensor-> controller-> microcomputer-> screen.

On the theory side, I'll be presenting an overview of FLOSS/open source technologies and their benefits to artists.

@vertenote Nice. The video doesn't load for me but just had a look on your page here.

We probably won't get around to making sensors, but will definitely explore a range of the ones that exist.
