This confirms what many of us have felt for a long time: the political system is set up to protect a private club, not to serve people like us.
These revelations erode what little trust is left in Westminster. We cannot rely on politicians to police themselves. We need to upgrade our democracy.

We are campaigning for a permanent and powerful Citizens’ Assembly for Greater Manchester. To put ordinary people, selected like a jury, at the heart of decision-making. This will be an example of democracy done right. The rest of the country and the wider world will have to take note.
While the relics of feudal times are having their abuses of power exposed, ordinary people are leading the way and building a system we can actually trust.

Wouldn't that have been nice if the US actually followed through on their original aspirations? Of course even in the beginning the States had the right to determine who could vote, and it was mostly just the landed "gentry". Universal (white) Manhood Suffrage didn't come until 1856. (White) Women didn't get the vote until 1920. People of colour had to wait until 1965--two years after I was born.

On a walk yesterday, Devine & I were talking about recent annoying issues with Arch, like with VLC splitting into multiple subpackages, and volumeicon no longer being developed.
Not being able to control volume from the systray was a bit annoying, and some alternatives I tried(like voctl) weren't ideal for my planned usage.
As soon as we got home Devine went to work on a little volume control tool in Uxn and now today I get to use it ^^!!!!
@neauoire do you find it inconvenient that the drawn mouse pointer in the window stays when the cursor leaves it? I guess you already considered adding a mouse state for whether it's in the window.
@kapunta not really, I had a bit of code at one point that triggered a mouse move offscreen when the cursor left the screen, but I took it off because it didn't bother me that much.
how does it work? how does a uxn rom app interface with the part of your arch system responsible for audio? seems like magic to me. does your little app talk directly to something in /dev?
@neauoire thank you Devine, the two of you are always so patient and thoughtful, even with silly questions about your creations. oh i see so uxn presumably has an output device for sending text commands to the console.
@nobotzem There's no question ever too silly that doesn't warrant an answer, plus, I love talking about this stuff.
But yes, basically uxn11(the emulator) has a unix subprocess port that allows uxn to request things from the OS. It makes using uxn a bit more unsafe, but it's useful for putting together programs that interface with the hots OS.

We watched La Bataille d'Alger last night after learning about it in One Battle After Another. I think that might be one of the best movie I have ever seen. #theCinema
The fact that such a famous film was not known to someone who is into film as much as you seem to be is making me wonder if its existence is still being (soft) suppressed in France.
It's surprising, event to me, that I haven't come across it before, but I wouldn't attribute this to sensorship, I probably had loads of opportunities to watch it and didn't, I simply haven't seen many of these famous classics.
I've watched Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, Citizen Kane and Battle Of Algier, all for the first time within the past 3 months.
I mean I haven't seen La Bataille d'Alger yet either, but I heard about it in many discussions. And since I saw you talk about film regularly and your kind of interests I figured that someone would have brought it to your attention by now.
But then again, the wiki page says it got a lot of extra attention in the mid-2000s during the War on Terror, which happens to be when I was in art school and worked at a video store. So maybe I'm overestimating how famous it is.
@vanderZwan working in a video store probably put you in proximity to a lot of great movies! I tend to just find a director I like, and watch everything by them, and then move on to a director that they like, and so on.
@vanderZwan If you dig Bataille, you might be into Carl Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc - often cited as a classic. To my eye, Pontecorvo and Dreyer are asking some similar questions about the boundaries of fiction on film, and... admittedly about how low you can shoot, which makes Welles a 'hold my drink'-level feat in both of those respects, ha.

I wonder what vehicle the real minimal Linux corresponds here ? Suse Micro Linux or much earlier Alpine (2005) should depict by a scooter ? Even postmarketOS should be mentioned for mobile devices as kind of matchbox Linux. Embedded Linux is missing ( tiny distros for devices) . Also any kind of special taylored container images with Linux. Only SUSE provides Micro Linux for Docker with less than 200 Mbytes . Linux depends NOT on a grafic window mgr
I have had issue to install Mint on some machines. With @garuda , I have never faced issue so far and other Arch forks can also do the job. Any distro can have installation issue and not all distros serve the same needs. This type of comparison doesn't benefit to #linux and its communities.

The short version of the problem is that we're not all built the same. Eg. it's not how tall you are, it's length of your spine.
For example, when I was thinner and used M-shirts (and lower waist was in fashion for jeans), my belly button used to come out if the shirt was less than around 80 cm tall. It's even worse now, as people are less keen seeing my belly, and sizes bigger than M are for those thicker, but not taller.
what you need to do is to licence the design to somebody like Teespring who print locally and therefore can offer low shipping fees. You’ll make more sales that way. Personally I’m not paying 40% extra for shipping, it’s ridiculous.
@gulfie If you don’t want to pay for shipping, fair. But places like Teespring do not screen print, and don’t offer such control over the fabric (they usually have their own supplier that you don’t get to choose). So no thanks. I’ll keep it bespoke as long as I can.
