Yes, I recall seeing articles about his absence (and some of the others), but if I saw this it may or may not have meant anything to me. Not like I should really get exercised over whether this or that actor was a prima donna, or ambitious, whatever.
Thanks, quite right, that was the last time I really paid attention, around the release of this movie, and then into the talk of the re-birthed movies and series.
I got busy late 80s, bigly! But "what have they done to Spock?" Caught my attention. Cannot recall if/how I reacted other than that. Anyway, I appreciate anything new of old (but authentic) beloved series, be it Star Trek or Twilight Zone (my infancy days?!) or for that matter, Bugs Bunny! I guess I stick with original. 😀
