there are so many "edge case words" in english (and most languages, but i only know english), like how more than one ox become oxen, or how removing almost all of your data leaves you with a single datum. after you speak, you haven't "speaked", you've spoken.
i wish companies would occasionally insist on doing this for their neologisms. it would be very funny to me specifically (and my opinion is, of course, of great import).
now that you have a second kindle, you have two kindlen. after i zoom you, we won't have "zoomed", we will have zaam. can you bing something for me? let me know when you've bung it. i need to sync that to my galaxies S26.

Oh, and please don't rely on us using the ending of the language we got the word from. That would be silly... We'll just decide to change that over time. Sometimes. Or not. 🤷

NY's suit looks like a shakedown. At the same time any sports viewing gives you an eyefull of gambling stats/sites, polymarket is somehow legal, the NYSE itself will allow an algorithm to trade a bundled derivative with nominal human involvement but sure put a tamp on people spending a couple bucks to get a game skin.
Pay the right lobbyist & all of a sudden anything looks legitimate, maybe valve is playing that game wrong.

in reply to It's FOSS • • •This is stupid question, and the fact that the open source principle basically demands that this question be posed in a neutral way, exposes the fact that the FOSS movement cannot, and specifically refuses to, protect us from fascism.
We need to take what we've learned from open source, and build something new. Something that will, as a matter of bedrock principle, stand up for human rights.
Linux distros should be either refusing to comply, or forbidding people through its license, in jurisdictions like CA that require age verification, to not use their software. It really is that simple.
