Frage | Friendica: Spam vor allen von Diaspora her?

Kann es sein das Spam im Fediverse vor allen von Diaspora her kommt? Klar ich hatte das auch schon auf Basis von Mastodon, aber eben nur sehr sehr wenig. Das was Diapora kommt ist wesentlich mehr. Neuestes Beispiel ist der Account globalfinancellz@diaspora.psyco.fr (Link) der mir folgenden schönen Kommentar schickte, den ich natürlich gelöscht habe:

Spammers have been programmatically creating accounts on Mastodon instances for years. Sometimes they post once and never again, sometimes they post on a schedule. Sometimes they never post, like a waiting botnet.

As Mastodon's anti-spam solutions are effectively nonexistent, most instances in our network require manual approval of new accounts. Up until recently, it was easy to spot a spammer; their join reasons were generic.

ChatGPT spammers have now arrived.

Ich bekomme von daher sehr merkwürdige direkt platzierte Werbeposts "Ich bin XYZ du kannst mich so und so nennen, Ich bin XXY altm, zur Zeit mache ich Dingsbums ... Folge mir, du kannst mich und hier und hier finden"

Der Server selbst zeigt nicht, wer auf diesem Server aktiv ist, oder irgendwelche Posts.

I am here to announce that I have decreased #spam on my web contact form from 1 message every 15 minutes (for months straight) to 0 messages in the last week by adding a "I am a spam bot" radio button.

I am not joking.

No I am not using something like ReCaptcha, I literally just added a radio button to the list.

After another spam wave, we're so grateful for @iftas

Their quick action prevented a repeat of the spam wave earlier in the year and things seem to be under control.

Thankfully, our complex signup process held up and the spam accounts involved in this attack weren't able to set-up on our instance! 💪

I discovered this server when I was following up on a spam report, and noticed that they also host anti-semitic content as well.

Here’s an example of a spam account that has not been removed, despite my reports, and has been functioning since February 7th:

#fediadmins are advised to temporarily disable sign-ups for now, or implement some anti-spam measure to limit signups to not get spammed.
Currently they are targeting #misskey and #mastodon, but other #activitypub servers may soon be targeted.
