Check out those whiskers! This little harbour seal was picked up by my team in October. Found on a beach with a life threatening condition (mouth rot), he was uplifted and taken to a sanctuary for rehabilitation.

He has a special place in my heart as this was my first rescue. 10/10 perfect gentleman, didn't fight/bite me!

He was recently released into the wild, and is out there somewhere living his best life šŸ¦­

Are there any #beetle specialists in the #fediverse? Had this in the moth box this morning. At least 4cm long (measured at 4, possibly 4.2cm) App says King Diving Beetle but they're quite rare round here. More likely Great, but I see gold edge rather than yellow and seems too big. Grateful for any assistance

Fossil stingray (Cyclobatis sp.)
Upper Cretaceous. Approximately 100.5 million to 66 million years ago. When alive, this creature lived in warm, shallow seas and had a very short tail, which was fitted with a venomous stinger.
