after far too much time, i have now seen the entire star wars trilogy. i watched the 4Kxx versions, so i cannot speak to mr. lucas's true vision with the CGI snootles and that guy who shot that other guy.
quick reviews:
episode IV: a classic, the start is a little slow, but great all the way through, compelling characters and great (if infrequent) action scenes, endlessly quotable. 8/10
episode V: felt kind of meandering to me, they made C-3P0 way more annoying, and then introduced an insufferable little green man in case C-3P0 wasn't annoying enough, VFX have greatly improved however. 6/10
episode VI: my favourite, only just beating out VI, pretty much full throttle the whole way through, even better VFX (the bit where they're speeding through the jungle blew my mind), yoda is considerably less annoying to the point where i feel kinda bad about finding him so irritating before, would be perfect if not for the ewoks, they maybe shouldn't have let [spoiler] off the hook so easy though. 9/10

in reply to It's FOSS • • •I tried vibecoding a simple Python script using Copilot; the result was terrible. The script was broken and its code messy. I had to debug issues and explain to Copilot how to properly structure code. The end result still required polish. Overall it didn't save me any time, quite the opposite.
Though considering the rate of progress, in a year or three it will likely become a viable method of creating software, if directed by an actual programmer who knows what they are doing.
