Friendica: Wegen X abgerufen?

Ich habe hier auf meiner noch recht neuen Installation recht häufig Beiträge bei welchen als Herkunft wegen X abgerufen. X ist dabei ein Kontakt mit welchen ich verbunden bin und der den betreffenden Beitrag Kommentiert, möglicherweise auch geliked oder Weitergesagt hat. Das ist aber für mich nicht Sinn der Sache, zumal das meinen Stream/TL sehr voll macht und dazu führt das ich z. T. Beiträge die ich wichtig finde übersehe. Also wie kann ich das abstellen?

Friendica: Bluesky Beiträge abstellen

Ich lasse seit kurzen eine Friendica Installation unter fedinaut.de hosten und bin gerade dabei mich in die Administration hinein zu arbeiten. Was z. B. ziemlich nervt sind die regelmäßigen Beiträge von Bluesky die ich an sich gar nicht will. Zumal ich mir erst einen Bluesky Account zulegen müsste um auch so das es nach Bluesky zurückläuft antworten zu können.

Wie kann ich die abstellen?

Rudolph found a lost package in one of the corners of the garage, which contained Friendica Interrupted Fern. 2024.12 was released shortly before midnight UTC, enjoy the new stable branch in the git repo. My advise would be to not update on develop yet.

With the exception of the The Tazmans Flax-lily, which was dedicated to Tony Baldwin who was a dear friend of the #Friendica project, the Interrupted Fern now provides the very last hint of the hidden game in the release names that started back in October 2015 with Friendica 3.3/Ginger.

And sorry that the CI part that is building the release tar balls is not working. I hope we can fix that issue till Friendica 2025.02...

Hello !Friendica Support anyone here who knows the docker setup for #Friendica well? I would like to migrate my installation to a docker based one.
I wonder if anyone besides @Philipp Holzer is familiar with the docker setup and knows docker better than me.

I am not a newbie to docker, but first questions that came up when I looked at friendica/docker where if I can still use the same config file I do use now, so not to uses these Environment Variables given under Friendica Settings?
Also need to figure out how to load the database I got (a dump) into this docker mysql, I guess that should be fairly easy with a pipe.

But it is all this little things that I am not sure about and that would take me ages to figure out without know what actually to search for.

I updated my two #Friendica servers to 03.2024 some days ago, the db update and the postupdate tasks on server A were still running today, I stopped them and restarted them now, it seems it takes quite long.

On the other server (B) I get the following error in cli:
[Error] Cannot get cache entry with key openstreetmap:Rungestraße 20, Berlin

I execute this commands:

git fetch
git pull
bin/composer.phar install --no-dev
cd addon
git fetch
git pull
cd ..
bin/console dbstructure update
bin/console postupdate

Happy for any tips how to solve that error.

Server A shows the following in /friendica:

This is Friendica, version 2024.03 that is running at the web location social.yl.ms. The database version is 1557/1557, the post update version is 1544/1550.

Server B shows the following in /friendica:

This is Friendica, version 2024.03 that is running at the web location friendica.utzer.de. The database version is 1557/1557, the post update version is 1507/1550.

There is a very simple option on #Friendica that I love, just select a word or a sentence and stick an url to it

why do I have error 500 in /network , my friendica instance worked fine for a few days, and today when I go to /network , I recive this error , in the web browser I have the error, I also cleaned the cash .

Fedilab works on my Android, I can access (My friends Conversation)

Nach einigen Tests scheint das Problem vor allen im Zusammenspiel von loma.ml und social.aghd.org zu liegen.

Wo könnte das Problem liegen?

This question came up during some recent work on improving the post UI. For desktop the action icon description is gone resulting in a less busy / cleaner UI. Another change being worked on is, to move interaction counters next to the action icon instead of showing them in a second row below.

Hm. Zwischengespeicherte Bilder sollten doch im Dateisystem landen, oder werden die nicht als jpg o.ä. sondern nur binär in der Datenbank gespeichert?

Es ist jedenfalls schon krass, dass ein sql.gz #Datenbank #Dump von meiner wenige Tage alten Single User #Friendica Instanz gestern Abend schon ~ 300 MB groß war.

Rechne ich das auf 90 Tage hoch, werden das ~ 10 GB.

Dabei ist der Speicherplatz wohl weniger das Problem als die Performance bei einer so fetten Datenbank.

Der Dump einer Nextcloud mit über 100 Nutzern, sehr vielen synchronisieren Dateien, Group Folder und intensiver Kalender- und Adressbuch-Nutzung ist nach Jahren gerade mal ~ 35 MB groß.

Wenn ich in #Friendica auf das Häuschen also mein Profil klicke und meine Beiträge ansehe, dann habe ich eine komische Ansicht.
Oben siehts noch normal aus und weiter unten überlappen die Beiträge die Fenster-Breite.
Die oberen Beiträge die normal angezeigt werden, kann ich nicht anklicken, bearbeiten usw. Bei den unteren Beiträgen die so komisch angezeigt werden, ist das möglich.
Getestet habe ich das unter Mull Android,

Firefox Android, Firefox Linux, Librewolf, und Ungoogled Chromium. Überall dasselbe Spielchen.

I'm working on my first #friendica #VPS installation, here you'll find my initial post about general thoughts like what distro to use, size and costs.
I'm using the tutorial "creating a friendica server - ubuntu" by @Hank G ☑️.

As of now I'm doing well in the process and want to start this post to document differences and questions while installing the server.

This server is going to host an already existing friendica node I have to move from another hosting provider. That means that for example the DB doesn't have to be created from scratch but moved and other smaller details.

I will try to address the different steps of installation in answers to this post and appreciate help, ideas and observations.

I'm doing this from a #linux desktop environment from the console but there shouldn't be differences if you want to do this from a #windows machine.

Hey @helpers or any helpful #Friendica users. I'm trying to understand the difference between Categories and Hashtags.

From what I'm seeing, categories never leave the server, but hashtags do get federated out. They kind of look the same in the timeline, with hashtags having a lightning bolt, and categories being green with "X's" that allow you to remove them.

So why choose one over the other? Or why combine them?

Hallo ihr tapferen Recken und Streiter im Friendica Codeland,

mir fällt immer wieder auf, dass sich meine TimeLine (/network) über die TopNavBar schiebt. Das ist ab und an etwas nervig, weil dabei auch die Infos in der Glocke verdeckt und nicht mehr klickbar werden.
Im CSS-fach-Chinesisch: da wird wohl eins der <div-Tags> beim z-index einen unglücklichen Wert haben. Zumindest meine Vermutung aus der weiten Ferne.

Beheben kann ich das ganze, wenn ich die ganzen per NoScript geblockten Quellen zulassen würde. Das mag ich aber nicht so pauschal machen.

Falls machbar, habt ihr eine Chance, das bei Gelegenheit zu beheben? Oder habt ihr einen anderen Tipp?

@Friendica Support Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, vom #Friendica -Webinterface aus eine Antwort als sichtbar für "nur erwähnte Profile" zu definieren?
Das entspricht der privatesten Option bei Antworten in #Firefish bzw. bei #Mastodon (das ja keinen Chat hat).
In #Tusky #Fedilab u.a. Apps ist das beim Antworten mit Friendica-Account möglich, aber im Webinterface gelten für Antworten die Einstellungen des Ausgangspost, oder?
Gibt es da eine Möglichkeit auch im Webinterface (das ja vermutlich die meisten Friendica-User aufgrund der ansonsten erweiterten Funktionen bevorzugt nutzen), diese Option zu aktivieren?

Hintergrund der Frage ist die Föderation von Friendica mit #Flohmarkt , das auf die Optionen von Mastodon ausgerichtet ist.

I just ran on #mastodon into the fact that #webP has issues to be uploaded.
There was a general problem giving 500 errors that apparently was fixed recently, even tho not all servers have updated this problem.

Actually I wanted to upload animated webP and that still doesn't work. The software extracts the first pic and serves it as webP.

So I tried to publish via #friendica into the fediverse the animated webP but at least the squeet.me friendica version (2023.09-dev) extracts the first pic and serves it as jpg image. 2021.01 and 2019.12 doesn't accept webP at all.

I guess this is known?

Any changes on this to expect?

I'm kinda astonished as I created the webP with GIMP and can display it in firefox, all free source software and animated webP is definitely higher quality than gif and way smaler size.
