wrong approach, malicious compliance is the way to go when the governments enact stupid legislations. Now a law can be passed on top to make anyone using a non compliant OS a criminal, are these orgs going to help out any of their users who get caught out?.

Many companies over-hired as a type of skills hoarding.

I had never thought this was a "thing" - but perhaps my middle daughter was a "victim". A few years ago her first job out of college was with Oracle, in the marketing department. I had a few conversations with her about what she was doing. She said that she was working with a team doing "direct" marketing - but from what I could gather there was little actual work going on, and the few phone calls that were made were superficial and even rather perfunctory. She left the job after about 6 months out of shear boredom.

Just updated my iPad. It wanted me to take a photo of a credit card. I did not let it. It then told me I might not be able to access certain things. The future is fucking shit.

Looks like a #RoughSkinnedNewt! They're neat little dudes. I see them sometimes swimming around in the #PNW.

Don't touch 'em (or let a critter lick/eat one) though; their skin has a gnarly tetrodotoxin.

Close! It's a California News, but similarly not fun to eat 😁 (a good weekend - we got this California Newt last weekend, Sierra Newts *this* weekend!)

Agents shouldn’t have to figure everything out from scratch.

Right now, they do.

cq is a Stack Overflow for agents, where knowledge is shared and improved over time.

Less repetition. More reliable outcomes.

Started writing some background music for Donsol, I'd love to find a sort of middleground between VNV Nation and some kind of chiptune.

Just a quick intro post to say hello!

I'm a mid-40s woman in tech and security engineer. I'm neurodivergent, genderfluid, and my pronouns are she/they.

I tend to use Mastodon for the things I love and enjoy, and I'll include a few of them in the hashtags.

Sharing a pic of me wearing my comfy Dustrial hoodie. In case I look familiar, I have migrated from elsewhere on the Fediverse!

“COVID probably killed 150,000 more people in its first two years than official U.S. tolls show”. Not surprising when you look at excess mortality numbers for that period. scientificamerican.com/article…

"Don’t tell me or it won’t happen."

I just turned one of those bold, round numbers that invites metaphysical thoughts about Time. Waking up at forty, I find myself in a body that feels healthy. From here, the past doesn’t look effortless: waking at six, workouts, repetitions, injuries, recoveries. But it does feel contingent. Perhaps a future version of me wished it so. Maybe a wish is not something that happens in the future, but something that selects a past.

Not an injection of energy, but a constraint on what histories are allowed, a pressure that filters the trajectories that can lead to this moment. There has to be a sequence of events that leads to the arrangement of me now. Perhaps this is the only history that survives the constraint of a wish I would one day impose: that I be well.

If so, thanks.
