is there a physical indicator light when the mic/GPS is activated? Will there be ways to turn of GPS and mic via a hardware switch? What data leak protections on biological data like heartrate eg will be in place? Thanks
@Laurenz0071 each component can be cut from power to save battery, which is as close as you'll get to a hardware switch. A software indicator could be implemented to indicate the usage of GPS/Mic.
i understand how difficult it can be to balance priorities against actual physical limitations and the feasibility of manufacturing, but i'm quite disappointed that there will be no ambient light sensor
having to manually change the brightness on any light-emitting device in 2026, especially one that might be worn outside in the sun one moment and then in dark indoors places like a cinema just a few moments later ...
@jokeyrhyme That disappointment is understandable, but as you said there are always challenges with limitations and feasibility. In this case a bunch of choices and compromises had to be made to make the device a reality at a reasonable price. Specifically the ambient light sensor is troublesome because they usually come as a part of the display.
Most understand that it's impossible to make everyone happy when compromises need to be made.

@Trocatintas Isn't she, though? I'm also fascinated by her accent. "What" in Anglo Saxon is spelled "hwæt". I used to wonder why the "w" and the "h" became transposed. Then I heard Lucy Darling asking people, "Hwat is your name?" She aspirates an "h" before the "w". It adds a lot of emphasis! And coming from her, sounds quite natural.
