Hi all, we've made the decision to defederate with mastodon.cloud, due to the unfortunate neglect of the server. Mastodon.cloud was already limited by Fosstodon. We will complete the defederation in 72 hours. Please reach out to accounts you still follow on mastodon.cloud and encourage them to move, while you can still contact them as the defederation will break your follow.
@Iwillyeah We all understand that. However since it severs your users' relationships, standard practice for a responsible instance is that you give sufficient notice that people can move if they don't want their relationships severed.
In the end it is very hard to judge the "correct" time frame. Especially, because there is no official reason given beyond "neglected server".
The reasons listed in this thread revolve around: 'The server is un-moderated for several month or even years'. Okay that is bad - but why such a 72h hurry? If this problem is going on for such a long time - some more weeks won't kill us.
@ghost_letters @Iwillyeah The correct time frame should be long enough for the cooldown timer between moving to a new instance to reset. Otherwise anyone who recently moved is screwed.
@dalias @ghost_letters I think 30 days is a long time to ask an instance to stay federated with another instance they don't want to be federated with. Your duty really is to the users of your own instance, not some other offending instance, imo, but I get why people are annoyed. Big difference between 72hrs and 30days.
@Iwillyeah @ghost_letters This is part of your duty to users of your own instance. If they recently moved to your instance, they shouldn't be stuck with you severing their relationships while they can't leave.

@Tealk @Ruben Storm @fed@loma.ml the developer is resuming development after carefully evaluating the project's potential. A beta will likely be released in the next few days, resulting in several redesigns. If this beta fixes some of the bugs in previous versions, then @𝔻𝕚𝕖𝕘𝕠 🦝🧑🏻💻🍕 will be able to publish a stable release.
It would be important to find new contributors to join the development, but unfortunately, Friendica's audience is very small.
@Friendica Support I can confirm a new release is on its way, probably a beta will be released next week and (depending on the feedback) a new stable release for both mobile (Android) and desktop (Linux, Windows, maybe MacOS) Will be published before summer.

Es gibt hier eine Übersicht verbundener OAuth Programme, habe das aber selber noch nicht mit Apps getestet: inne.city/settings/oauth Ich glaube App-Passwörter gibt es nicht, bzw. keine Visualisierung dazu?
Vielleicht kann jemand aus dem Friendica Hilfeforum !@helpers@forum.friendi.ca noch mehr zu den übrigen Fragen und den Hashtags sagen?

Aus Sicherheitsgründen habe ich #2FA aktiviert. Damit funktioniert die Anmeldung über #Relatica nicht mehr. Gibt es so was wie #API-Sc

I've been bothered on whether I should go back to Linux or not. On one side it's just too awesome and I don't need to develop here on why it is, but on the other side battery on my laptop and gaming on my desktop have just performed so much better on Windows, and it's difficult to justify the loss in efficiency for the terminal and additional privacy considering that I already barely have time to use my computers at all. (I debloat my Windows so I don't have the Copilot slop and so on)
