Citizens’ Impeachment is a nonpartisan movement powered by everyday Americans with a unifying mission: to uphold the Constitution of the United States and impeach, convict, and remove officials who violate their oath of office — including Donald Trump and his enablers, who in 2025 alone amassed hundreds of documented violations of constitutional and international statutes.

The U.S. Constitution provides one remedy for unlawful conduct in office: impeachment. This is not about party or personality — it’s about statutes, sovereignty, and the rule of law. Support for impeachment is a patriotic act of defense, not division. Every citizen has the right — and duty — to demand that Congress honor its oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

The House of Lords continues to be home to people with, shall we say, dubious friends. But at a local level, a quiet revolution in democracy is happening.

Recent headlines from the House of Lords have been a stark reminder of why change is so urgent. Lord Peter Mandelson was forced into a sudden U-turn, and offered an "unequivocally" worded apology for his association with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. He initially declined to apologise in a televised interview. At the same time, Keir Starmer has faced heavy criticism for appointing his former aide, Matthew Doyle, to the Lords. This is despite Baron Doyle’s past support for a councillor he knew was charged for possessing indecent images of children.

Politicians rewarding their questionable inner circles reinforces the idea that the system is unfair, outdated and self-serving.

There is a better way.

Instead of relying on political appointees, we can trust ordinary people to do right by us. Positive stories of citizens’ assemblies are popping up everywhere as a powerful antidote to "politics as usual":

~ In Nottingham, the New Art Exchange has integrated a permanent assembly into its core leadership structure. It's giving local residents real power over its strategy, policies, programme and more.

[1]~ In Meinersen, Germany, the local administration was initially sceptical of a citizens' jury. Afterwards, the Mayor admitted the experience created a "new value" locally. She said: "We are no longer afraid of the citizens".

[2]~ In Wales, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is using a citizens’ assembly. The assembly has a focus on improving health and well-being, as well as reducing inequality. The process illustrates how councils can work hand-in-hand with the community.

[3]We are currently building a campaign for a permanent Greater Manchester citizens’ assembly. This would be the "proof in the pudding". A living example that we don't need permission from London to upgrade our democracy.

Success in Manchester will show the whole country that a House of Citizens, made up of people selected like a jury, is the only credible way to replace the House of Lords for good.
