Ah yes, a double-cat on my sewing. Quite effective! I couldn't pick between the photos so just put together all three of the best ones.

After a few searches I came across this: library.gamehistory.org/reposi… — I'd love to see this box of maps.

It reminded me of all the elaborate notes and drawings me and my siblings would make of the worlds of the games we played, taking us from the screen to paper. I guess that rarely happens these days.

‘Sunlight in the Blue Room’ is an 1891 painting by Anna Ancher, an innovative Danish painter who was a central figure with the Skagen Painters. With its many shades of blue and the sunlight pouring through the window, the painting is one of her most famous works.

Those shadows cast by the foliage in the window are very evocative for me. The painting reminds me of summer afternoons at my grandparents’ farm. Some of my yesterdays.

With her back to the observer, the child is busy crocheting. Despite its everyday subject, the painting is one of Anna Ancher's most captivating masterpieces with its many shades of blue and the sense of tranquility it conveys. Devoid of action, the theme is essentially the play of light in the room. The only indication of the outside world is the light streaming through the window.

Excessive olfactory memory in the insomniac fruit fly mutant:

"we report our surprising findings that insomniac (inc) Drosophila short sleep mutants, which lack a crucial adaptor protein for the autism-associated Cullin-3 ubiquitin ligase, exhibited excessive olfactory memory."

And then the paper goes on to inquire into the molecular basis of this, and reports:

"find that a mild attenuation of Protein Kinase A (PKA) signaling specifically rescued the sleep and longevity phenotypes of inc mutants. Surprisingly, this mild PKA signaling reduction further boosted the excessive memory in inc mutants, coupled with further exaggerated mushroom body overgrowth phenotypes."
