Hey @simsaens the mastodon iOS code is here github.com/mastodon/mastodon-i…

Maybe @Gargron accepts contributions?

in reply to Dylan Sale

I hope so, I'd love to contribute some of my favourite iOS niceties to the app (like support for adding links to your reading list, drag and drop media)
in reply to Sim

We do accept contributions. Design changes need to be coordinated with our designer though. Our component design system is unfortunately not yet ready to be public.

The Surface Water and Ocean Topography mission (SWOT) is set to launch on Dec. 12. But what makes SWOT different from other Earth-observing satellites? Here are a few things to know about #TrackingWorldWater: (1/5) #NASAJPL

in reply to maruki

I'm the opposite. I usually think people are joking when they say something absurd. õ__õ

But then I realize... "Oh, wait, you're being serious??"

I just moved over from mastodon.world so apologies for posting this again (I promise I'll never double post again, but I posted this right before I moved servers and now its gone).

I'm a watercolor artist but I've been exploring textured ink drawings, so I loved the challenge of this curator prompt. I tried my best to channel my inner-Edward Gorey

in reply to Allie

I've heard it said that sometimes it's even nice to boost your old toots if you think they need a little more attention so I wouldn't worry too much about an accidental double post.

Anyhoo just want to say welcome to the fediverse and I like your ink drawing

Regarding my last post. "Art isn't dead, you're just stuck watching corporate sh**" (Disney/Marvel/DC/EA Games/Blizzard/ Activision)

I was talking with a friend about it.
90% of what I consume is indie media. Bcz I learned habits that allow me to find cool indie stuff seamlessly.

But it can be hard for ppl who are used to just consume what is trending, to just go off the grid with their media.

Maybe we need something like a "manual to abandon corporate media". It could be a Zine.

one thing I can recommend is to visit your local art house cinema (if you happen to live in the vicinity of one). Also local film festivals are great, and very often free or cheaper than regular tickets. I work organizing those kinds of events so I have firsthand experience

Helping a colleague to promote a worthy event at the UofT. I really like the fact that it is multidisciplinary, not just political science but also journalism and history.

Hey guys, just great what you are doing here! Would be cool if you would bring in some more people from elite sports or people in the niche sports - business like e. g. athletes who are successful in business as well. Would be happy to support you with this.

crustaceans, water bugs 📷

-slaps imaginary roof- these bucket ponds can hold so many of these little crustaceans. I think they’re Asellus Aquaticus, water louse.

I can’t believe I made this little habitat and now I’ve got this population of native crustaceans I had never seen before! :blobaww:

Participating on polls from Friendica

@Friendica Support : Just a curious question:
I follow quite a lot of mastodon account, and in the last days, mastodon users seem to develop a passion for polls.

I noticed that I am on my friendica instance are not able to participate in these polls since the content is only included in plain text.

Does #Friendica just do not support polls, or is it only my instance / a missing add-on that prevents me to participate in polls?

in reply to Marek Bachmann

My understanding is that polls are currently only displayed but you can't vote on them yet. It would be great if this will be added to a future version of Friendica!
in reply to Ruben Verweij

Yes, this summarizes exactly my reading. I just asked on git

Is there already _something_ implemented regarding those interactions? I would love to have a look at it as a starting point to get familiar with the code structure. 😀

Please take a moment to drink in the :sparkles_pink: absolute spectacle :sparkles_indigo: that is the Brands.town instance: brands.town/explore

Like a star in an hourglass ⏳ @NASAWebb captured the very start of a new star. The protostar is gathering mass and moving toward nuclear fusion. The dark band at the center is a disk of material about the size of our solar system! go.nasa.gov/3GnnFX0 #NASAExoplanets
in reply to NASA

what is the origin of the light on the two halfs of the "hourglass" (made of interstellar gas, I suppose)? Does it come 1/ from the proto-star that already achieved some sort of fusion; 2/ from the proto-star that is so hot it emits IR light that is then reflected; 3/ from the gas itself of the hourglass (if it's hot?); 4/ or from other sources?

#Friendica needs new contributors!

I'm not used to do this, but with the large influx of new users and node admins recently coming from #Twitter, our small team is now behind the curve for handling support requests, bug reports and bring about much-needed features.

The project is built on a #PHP/#MySQL platform, but we also need people to be able to assist others just using the software to give developers some space.

If you're willing and able to help, please follow @Friendica Support and the project on Github: github.com/friendica/friendica

Thank you!

Pls be aware that a notable transphobe has recently signed up ie angi@home.social. Little activity so far

Big picture, this type is about as toxic as it gets for us as a trans community. On @tech.lgbt she's been blocked, I'd ask that you consider the same, or at least keeping a very close eye here

@Gargron @stux
@feditips A user named @irwin actually reported me for merely replying to his post in the context of a perfectly respectful discussion I was having with many at the time.

My account was "Limited".

My appeal was approved, but will this be common? Because if so, everyone should know exactly which topics are in or out of bounds on Mastodon. I could not know a simple reply would trigger such a sanction.

I do like that you report the reporter. That will help prevent report-abuse.

in reply to Shoq

We have brand new moderators since a few days ago. I'm looking into it.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Also no, we do not reveal who made the report. That's your post containing their username.

Countdown to a new star ⏳ Hidden in the neck of this “hourglass” of light are the very beginnings of a new star — a protostar. The clouds of dust and gas within this region are only visible in infrared light, the wavelengths that Webb specializes in: go.nasa.gov/3TKluzI #JamesWebb
