You may have seen it over on @Mastodon, but in case not: The new plushies are now live on the shop, alongside restocked and new mugs. Shipping to EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and the US. We decided to allow orders from the US, but shipping is what it is (from Germany).

Great! Shipping to France is unfortunately very expensive for ordering just stickers, not sure if maybe there is a setting to count that stickers only are just a flat enveloppe sent as a letter (the shipping costs are the same with an added plushie for instance).

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social am I the only one that is starting to see as a blur such "short" game descriptions as headlines? 14 words after the comma (counting articles), with 8~9 acting as adjectives, and besides so many adjectives could imply (negatively) a "jack of all trades", it feels like the reader needs extra focus to tell where the text structure gravitates towards.

Been seeing such cases in a few places now and it feels like they're meant both for being picked more easily by search engines, and for people to open them because they reacted passionately by some random term without understanding the whole context.

in reply to Auster

@Auster i really don't know what you're trying to say, it's just a headline that may or may not grab attention - nothing more

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

This looks interesting. I'm not as big into the survival aspect, but there are other games like ark I can enjoy if there is enough other things that are cool in it. Plus it looks customizable for difficulty and gameplay to that should help. But I like the automation angle, and the robots.

Evolution doesn’t look how it’s depicted in pop culture. We often picture the famous “March of Progress” illustration where a series of apes stand in line leading to a modern human.

But evolution is not linear. It branches and branches. Divides in some places and recombines in others. #science

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

(it "only" took a few billion years🌎 for "it"🧠 to begin to understand "itself)

at least parts of (eukaryotic) yeast and human genes are "homologous" and functionally similar enough to function in either "host "
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/…

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

Exactly. That famous image makes evolution look like a straight path, but it’s really a branching, messy process. Life splits, adapts, overlaps, and sometimes reconnects. Humans aren’t the “end goal” just one surviving branch. And that complexity is what makes evolution truly amazing. 👌

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.

Fedora: nah, we pushed a broken Mesa update to everyone

This type of thing should not happen.

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

this is the same project that allowed one contributor to damage their reputation long-term by trying to remove 32-bit support across the entire project for the (now) next release of Fedora while Steam and most of the games on it are still 32-bit applications -- and only because their build system is so bad that they can't selectively build 32-bit stuff.

They don't care about the golden goose Linux has been gifted that is gaming.

um, hang on

after detection of COVID-19 via nasal swab, nasal saline irrigation performed every four hours over a 16-hour period decreased COVID-19 viral load by 8.9%. Meanwhile, the viral load in the control group continued to increase during that time.

they were checking the exact location they rinsed? 🤨 I'd like to see the "viral load" measured at a different location (blood test?).

in reply to Muse

I finally tested negative today!

Also, my new neti pot arrived in the post. I've used it once so far.

Sometimes I put in an absurdly low bid on an eBay auction with the certainty that I definitely won't get it but also a vanishingly slim hope that MAYBE by some miracle nobody else will bid. Anyway that is how I ended up adding this magnificent glass plate negative to my collection! No date/info.
