Another T-Shirt illustration from some time ago. Always been a huge fan of anatomy, so drawing a massive and muscular troll was a blast. Inked using a Raphael #2 Brush dripping with Black Magic Ink on Strathmore. Old school!
Typically, with masculine lines, you go for a more chiseled angle to the linework (maybe a crow quill), but I wanted a more supple approach for this image.

in reply to tom grzyb • • •OK, let me try to start: First, what exactly is the group which is claiming this design as its own? The original "designers" lived centuries ago. China is pretty big, and Asia much larger still...
Second, in what sense can a (nebulous) group own an abstract design? I have no idea how that works.
Third, what if someone actually does come up with an idea independently of the "original"? Does that mean they are in the wrong?
Fourth, virtually everything we do or make has an historical or cultural origin from a realm we do not currently inhabit. It's called "developing upon our roots", or "inspiration". Nothing is completely new under the sun.
Fifth - some of the protestors are assuming that Dior does not have Asians in their design teams, who might "legitimately" be inspired by their very own culture.
The entire notion of "cultural appropriation" is complete BS - I give it no legitimacy.
