@Greg A. Woods That would be YouTube's new system to keep people from downloading videos. DRIVES ME NUTS! Most videos have to be played for a few seconds, then rewound in order to get everything to sync up. Their algorithm has gotten worse as well. I can see why some people end up being taken into conspiracy theory hell. I end up NOT trying things, because they can end up polluting my feed.

@hiker My impression is that a lot of people would be upset with us if we published something claiming to be a "fediverse" tool, as if we own the fediverse. Of course, there's also not nearly the same amount of brand recognition for the fediverse as a concept. There are at least 3 unofficial symbol proposals and most people outside the fediverse aren't familiar with any of them.

@hiker Probably the body best suited to publish something like a fediverse share tool is the @swf. Regardless, I think we're well within our rights to publish a tool our users asked for, catered to our own platform. Not everything has to be for everyone. PeerTube has a PeerTube app and Sepia Search, nobody is upset (nor should they be) that those don't work with Mastodon.

@ozzy @swf @hiker I think things work pretty well right now. Youโ€™ll never have 100% feature parity between platforms, sometimes it doesnโ€™t even make sense. Some code forges now use ActivityPub between themselves, but I think most would agree it would be ridiculous to expect to be able to send a pull request to a code repository from Pixelfed or Mastodon. The important bits are the bits that are in common.

So the US knew the location of the Iranian ship off Sri Lanka bc both the US and Iran were part of a military exercise hosted by India which the US pulled out of at the last minute, presumably so as to bomb the unarmed Iranian ship.

Kanwal Sibal โ€ข 6h The Iranian ship will not be where it was if we had not invited it to talk part in our Milan exercise. We were the hosts. I am told that as per protocol for this exercise ships cannot carry any ammunition. It was defenceless. The Iranian naval personnel had paraded before our president. The attack by the US submarine was premeditated as the US was aware of the Iranian ship's presence in the exercise to which the US navy was invited but withdrew from participation at the last minute, presumably with this operation in mind. The US has ignored India's sensitivities as the ship was in these waters because of India's invitation. We are far from politically or militarily responsible for the US attack. Our"responsibility" is at a moral and human plane. A word of condolence by the Indian Navy ( after political clearance) at the loss of lives of those who were our invitees and saluted our president would be in order.

Isn't this the game that used AI to voice, well...everything?

Maybe they are just training their models with more "human-speak"? No harm in that right? I mean, yk, how else is "Mr. Data" gonna learn to feel more "human"? Yk..get "emotions" an stuff?

@nemo nowadays I sow them together instead of using a clip. They're a single 30 pages notebook, that I can make at home every few days when I finish one.
