During blooming, the spadix heats up, raising its temperature by as much as 20 degrees Fahrenheit above the surrounding air. This thermogenic phase coincides with the emission of its signature scent, a mixture of sulphur-based compounds designed to attract flies and carrion beetles, which play a vital role in the plant’s pollination.
The RNA analysis revealed that genes associated with alternative oxidases—plant equivalents of animal uncoupling proteins—are highly active during the heating phase, especially in the spadix’s appendix. Additionally, genes involved in sulphur transport and metabolism were expressed, driving the production of the odour. Among these compounds, researchers identified putrescine, an organic chemical not previously recognised as part of the Corpse Flower’s scent profile.
This research sheds light on the evolutionary adaptations of the Titan Arum while highlighting the urgent need to conserve its natural habitat. Protecting the rainforests of Sumatra from deforestation caused by palm oil cultivation and mining is critical for the survival of this extraordinary species. Und wenn irgendwann die Politische Karriere ad acta gelegt wird, verbleibt das Profil @MdB_awet-tesfaiesus als historisches Vermächtniß bestehen während @Anwaltskanzlei mit Zugriffsrechten für @awet-tesfaiesus und @team an den Start geht. Und da mensch ja auch immer Privatmensch ist und bleibt, publiziert @awet-tesfaiesus privates, auch mal ein Foto aus dem Urlaub, während @rechtsanwaeltin_awet-tesfaiesus sich zu beruflichen Themen äußert. Zwischen Profilen für die mensch Zugriffsrechte besitzt kann mensch mit zwei clicks hin und her wechseln.
Das fediVerse ist an sich eine komplett neue Welt das einen ganz anderen Ansatz rechtfertigt als es uns bisher schon fast gezwungener Maßen von kommerziellen Anbietern beigebracht wurde.
Eine eigene Instanz kann mittlerweile von Anbietern wie weingaertner-it.de im Netz für ~6.00 Euro (?) im Monat eingerichtet werden. Sich so etwas zumindest mal für ein paar Monate einzurichten und an zu sehen ist auf jeden Fall ein Versuch wert.
Und ja, diese Antwort wurde von einem friendica Profile erstellt. Sich diese auf einem Desktop auf dem Originalserver anzusehen bedeutet ein Idee vom Layout einer Alternative im fediVerse zu bekommen.

The access to images can be restricted for specific (friendica) users or circles of (friendica) users. The access inside the fediVerse can be restricted on a server level so that bad actors can be blocked. It is also possible to allow only communication with specific servers. I grew these mushrooms in a cloth grow bag using only wood chips as the substrate. I thought that they would fruit in the top, but instead they actually fruited through the fabric in the bottom.
They struggled a bit due to the low humidity indoors, but I spray them with water several times a day, so I will be able to harvest something.
@MCDuncanLab cool! Plastic bag is the way to go. I was trying to grow these without plastic but it's hard. These are a white oyster variety I got from a local grower. I already had one batch from a pot, and they were quite tasty! Blue oyster is next...
Excellent harvest! The growth direction may seem weird, but fungi mycelia are pretty much of tridimensional growth (if you have ever seen a mold snow-ball in a liquid you can get the idea), so they will probably have grown towards the zone they detected was closer to circulating air (AFAIK, fungi do not have a lot of gravi- or phototropism).
the process of creating those notes probably already help a lot to remember stuff without even looking at them. Writing stuff on paper also writes the stuff into the brain somehow.

it's so very weird to have the monopolist platform being the one pushing for Linux, not visibly falling for the bubble and even requiring full transparency on AI use from publishers, while the smaller platform that relies on fans and personality to differentiate itself going all in on the hype
lots of people angry about the "non comment" but I think it's a good sign.
They can't just throw a guy under the bus and call it a day on a Friday afternoon. There is a lot of conversations that need to happen internally. I'd prefer it if they said something like "oopsie, this should never have happened", sure. But the goal here seems to precisely communicate that those conversations are going to happen next week.
