We choose the content & what to highlight & celebrate. On #Twitter & other platforms, we became used to posting & expecting the most infuriating/outrageous/triggering news. It became sport & spectacle & promoted narcissism.

We have an opportunity to actively share in other ways here. Curate curiosity. Build on each other’s ideas.

@Gargron & team have given us a chance to do things differently. So far, I’m optimistic.

12 years ago, my 2nd book, The Science of Kissing (Hachette, 2011) came out. It’s about the neuroscience, biology, evolution, history, real chemistry & potential future of connection.

The abbreviations before each feature tell you which part of Mastodon it concerns. "MAS" means the web interface and core functions, "AND" means the official Android app, "IOS" means the official iPhone/iPad app.

Third party apps and interfaces will have their own roadmaps which may be completely different, as they are made independently by third party teams.

I have reported this fake account (in photos), where someone is impersonating me in many comments using my photos & bio to promote their writing. If this indieauthors.social account replied to you, don’t be duped.

Aside from reporting, there’s little I can do, but welcome any #tips. This happened on #Twitter & it’s disappointing to see it again here. But on social media, so it goes.

This will be great exposure for Mastodon, and I'm excited that it's happening on Reddit. These two are currently the only social sites I use.

There's a new groups system for the Fediverse called chirp.social. More info at:

You can join a group by following the group account. You can post to the group by @-ing the group account, which then reposts that to all its other followers

It is similar to the existing a.gup.pe system, but chirp.social allows a group manager to delete posts and ban people from the group.

It works on all Fediverse platforms including Mastodon.

The current way multiple #images are displayed is awful:

Yeah, you saw it by my embedded examples your self. What bothers me most is:

• It just looks messy (especially when there is a mix of landscape and portrait format)
• Besides the aesthetics, multiple images take a lot of room (when you do not use an add-on like show more)

My suggestion on which I would love to hear your opinion is to use a grid format like on #mastodon:

I would pitch a suggestion by adding a PR for a (from my point of view) "better" appearance based to this
tutorial. I do not like to use JS in general and would leave it out by determine the suited amount of columns in the backend.

But before I invest time on that, I want to hear your feedback. Thank You!
